I didn't self-rate just so you know.

Looks like N-b's "Cornerstones" and my own "nb4DS" maps combined

But that's just my opinion :P
lazernerd (03/01/2008 12:29pm | Edited: 03/01/2008 12:30pm):
I can see the resemblance, but that's not where I got the idea from. I combined my Hoopla
map and another map I saw online called London Bridges.
nerd-boy (03/01/2008 02:16pm):
BM can Recon Rush.

OS probably can too, but it wouldn't be as effective.

You should probably pull the neutral bases back a bit to offset this.
Tyrael (03/01/2008 02:20pm):
Excellent map, good terrain, FTA counter in the right place, good funds.
Tyrael (03/01/2008 02:22pm):
Both sides can build a recon day 2 and disrupt the enemy's base capture, so if OS goes for
it, BM can too, or if OS doesn't, then BM can but OS loses that opportunity. So OS needs to
build an early disruptive recon, because if they don't and BM does, they lose a couple of
turns with their third factory.
nerd-boy (03/01/2008 02:33pm):
Actually, I'm not sure if an OS disruptive recon built the turn after BM builds theirs
(unless they anticipate correctly, which is tough). So OS builds the recon on turn three,
because of this. Turn four, OS moves the recon closer, and BM starts the base capture. On
turn four, the day BEFORE OS can start capturing, BM's recon can just sit pretty on the
base. Turn five, BM's damaged recon captures and the infantry a turn behind it can join
with it, securing the base. Meanwhile, OS's infantry is blocked by the recon.
lazernerd (03/01/2008 02:36pm):
Both OS and BM can build a recon on day 2. If OS doesn't build a recon on day 2 and BM
does then that's their own fault.
nerd-boy (03/01/2008 02:38pm):
The above situation was if OS and BM built their recon on turn two.

No matter what, a turn two recon for BM means that OS doesn't get their base, and BM's FTA
counter infantry guarantees them the base regardless.
lazernerd (03/01/2008 02:41pm | Edited: 03/01/2008 02:57pm):
An OS recon can reach that extra base in 2 days so it will be able to stop the BM infantry,
same for BM at the other base.
nerd-boy (03/01/2008 02:43pm):
Wait...you're right.

Regardless, that's bad.
Tyrael (03/01/2008 02:43pm):
BM will start capturing the base, then OS day-2 recon can fire on it how I count.

Who wants to test with me?
nerd-boy (03/01/2008 02:45pm):
I'll do it. (Get in teh chat).
Tyrael (03/01/2008 02:45pm):
Game name: Hiptac
Pass- citpah
Tyrael (03/01/2008 03:17pm):
We screwed up the test, someone else do it :P

lazernerd (03/01/2008 03:29pm):
I'm gonna start a few games and see how they go.
nerd-boy (03/01/2008 03:32pm):
Regardless of messing up the games, the fact remains that both players can build recons to
disrupt the base capture.

Which I don't really like.
Tyrael (03/01/2008 09:02pm):
I kinda like it, it makes you decide between sending inf to capture properties for funds or
sending them to fight for the base, or maybe you save up for a tank or something. Since
both sides can disrupt equally well I don't think it's a problem, but testing (by people that
know how @.@) should tell.
lazernerd (03/08/2008 04:47pm):
From what I've been seeing on the game I played on this map so far, building a recon on
day 2 isn't always a guaranteed win even if your opponent doesn't build one on day 2.
Expansion may be slowed down a bit, but it's not a big deal because 2 bases with 15k funds
(how long before someone should be able to capture one base if they are both playing
good) will result in some good battles.
walkerboh01 (01/19/2010 10:25pm):
Well i just had a game where we decided to draw on day 3 because both of us could disrupt the other's base
capture with just infantry. Neither of us built a recon, but infantry alone is enough to disrupt the base capture for
both sides.

The neutral bases need to be pulled back towards their respective HQ's just a couple of spaces and then that
problem should be nicely solved. As it is now, the map is playable but pretty annoying.
lazernerd (02/12/2013 09:16pm):
Update:
- Neutral bases have been moved closer to each player.
- Airports added to the map.
