The map called wold dommination reboaren because the last map had bugs

blanci1 (04/29/2008 03:27am):
lewea- would that be that a dutch word? reboaren ? suena familiar
blanci1 (04/29/2008 07:45am | Edited: 04/30/2008 07:51pm):
This map has the same grandeur as the original "world domination" map.. In addition to
the replacement of the central mountains with a piped-in plaza, there are some less
obvious changes (road and center factory movements) which make gameplay much
more "critical" with early confrontation ( this may exacerbate FTA though) .
With the large funds and few factories and few nearby cities to capture i think it makes
for refreshingly different gameplay , fast, interesting and fun..... (well so far..day2 ),,, lots of
hardware and fewer infantry..... great

lewea (04/29/2008 10:12pm):
Well Ive got no idea hoew to spell reboaren (re-bor-en) and I thought it would be cool to
have an abandid base in the middle

blanci1 (04/30/2008 07:56pm | Edited: 05/04/2008 02:49pm):
reborn and abandoned.?.. i guess you are from the i-tech generation
....... i m getting to like this map.. expansive sense of freedom...aaaaaaah, i can
almost feel the wind blowing across the desert

Shaun-umit (04/30/2008 10:43pm | Edited: 04/30/2008 11:46pm):
I like this map 9/10
blanci1 (05/10/2008 02:13am | Edited: 05/19/2008 09:48pm):
oh....shaun-unit, i think you forgot to actually leave your rating... :)

Superb map !!!! gameplay is very uncertain and different from usual maps.

One tiny suggestion... make the coms neutral and put them just outside the homebase.
(Theres no point if everyone has them preowned... if you want them you have to get em is
better).
blanci1 (05/24/2008 03:14am):
Another excellent and realistic feature of this map is that one must perpetually take
calculated risks in deployment... On smaller maps with lots of infantry around one tends to
check every bush first before advancing valuable hardware. On this map you cant afford
such luxuries ... in fact its almost not worth checking at all .. better to guestimate possible
ambushes and just make provision for your next wave of forces to clear up said bandits.
Difficult to eliminate spying too... sonja rules!? This map deserves considerable
consideration of its demanding and original strategic requirements !!!!!!!!! mark it high!
(spoilers will be removed when map gets past test stages - it might need to be made a little
fairer too , a little more symetric in terrain resources for example).
Dragunov14 (06/21/2008 01:21am):
The factories in the center are way to close, and this map is really choky... the missles will
also be a pain...
Flawed Logic (06/21/2008 01:29am):
I like the idea, but isn't it a bit too sparse?
da dragonator[ish] (06/21/2008 04:53am):
me like map too.

BadFurDay (06/21/2008 06:56am):
FTA = bad
Centralized bases = bad
Excess com towers = bad
Stupidly choked in places = bad (chokepoints are not bad, but they're huge and kill the
game in this map)
Way too huge for what it is = bad

Where the hell are the good raters who give critique gone? I guess they left because 99%
maps submitted lately are pure shit. This one isn't too bad, but I'm giving it a 1/10 to
draw that rating down, I might re-rate it up if those issues are fixed.

nerd-boy (06/21/2008 12:14pm):
This map is far too big for what it's trying to accomplish. Because each of the four
players are holed up in fortress-type implements that are about 30 squares away from each
other, combat will take forever to even get started, and even then, since the only neutral
bases are in the center (which, by the way is a really bad idea), combat won't really
improve. There's also a distinct lack of neutral properties on this map, and a map this
size really needs 'em.

There are also some really annoying chokepoints, in which there's a one-square wide bridge
for an entire army to cross. This can easily get clogged up, especially with the excess of
mountains surrounding them.

Also: two innate comm towers per side = Javier is broken.

In summary:

The map is far too big.
There are too many comm towers.
The armies are too far apart, and the lack of neutral production facilities only makes
this worse.
OS has FTA, as they can rush to the center and nab some of the bases/towers first.
And the asymmetry probably doesn't help the balance of it.

Normally, I'd give this a 4/10, because it does seem like you were trying, and it's a
solid effort, despite it being too big to be a solid 4 player conflict. However, because
people were uprating it, I'm forced to give it a 1/10 to draw the rating down to what I
feel it should be.

badfur day and nerdboy
how can you say i was UP-rating?? i gave my reasons for liking this map at great length
having actually played and finished this map ... and i found it one of the best ive ever played
on .... thats not up-rating thats me giving my honest reasoned opinion --- meanwhile you
have given an admittedly dishonest rating ??
i did not just ghost through.. like a troll. Why be so dismissive of
a reasoned opinion and also of the others who may
have been swayed by my positive comments.

Also how come you never questioned how come i found this map
to be so good during actual play? With so many apparent technical problems do you have
no curiosity as to what happened or explanation of my quite contrary experience?

YES the map could have certain difficulties but we mustnt throw out the baby with the
bathwater... some changes might be needed regarding fta , perhaps re chokes (though i
didnt find a prob) , maybe even the centre...( but the bases arent dead central so its probly
no prob)
CHOKES-- GE and BM can access centre with vehicles going around the bridges.... the
other countries need similar. Also the map edges near bridges could be opened (remove
some mountain) to allow a longer way round.
Although i like non-symetric maps, it might be just easier to make it fair simply by making the
map rotationally symetric.

If you don`t want javier nerd boy then bann him.
