well except in special cases countering first turn advantage (fta) is an inexact science .... but i think its worth doing rough common sense manner ....especially on a small map! For example why not give (incremental 1/4 , 2/4 , 3/4 of first day progress) 2nd player an infantry on his HQ ! ( lesser value than 3rd players counter!) 3rd player an infantry on the road corner ( or on a base) 4th player a mech on a base Then ask does anyone have much of an advantage or disadvantage ,,, well now id be happy to play as any team ..... but with no counters OS has biggish advantage. Of course in multiplayer there are other co-operation or ganging up factors which potentially outweigh fta ... but why not do it if its easy and nothing to lose. |
