Alright, so Quail Land (http://awbw.amarriner.com/prevmaps.php?maps_id=15394) is pretty much my all-time favourite multiplay map. However, non-symmetrical maps are always going to have issues with balance, and sadly Quail Land is no exception. So I've taken it upon myself to build sequels to Quail Land using its principles of scattered bases, dense terrain and a few PD units, and sacrifice non-symmetrical aesthetic appeal for gameplay balance. As suggested in the title, this map is meant for team play, hence the lack of much in the way of FTA counter. A clone of this map for FFA play can be found at http://awbw.amarriner.com/prevmaps.php?maps_id=38773 Recommended settings: FOW on; Weather clear; Tags on; funds/income left at defaults; teams on (GE+TG vs YC+AB - yellow vs green); boot interval 7, AET interval 4. Recommended CO bans: Broken 5, Sami and indiscriminate COPs (Drake, Hawke, Kindle, Olaf, Rachel, Sasha, Sturm, Von Bolt). Recommended unit bans: Black Bomb, Stealth. I think Neotanks are overpowered for their price, but if you like them go for it. This map has not finished playtesting just yet so please don't rate for now. I've put a lot of thought into the PD units eliminating the scope for Recon Rush on HQs whilst keeping the Com towers guarded, anyone got anything to add? The PD Artilleries - sensible precaution against early HQ rush, or FTA overkill? Edit: which part of 'don't rate this map yet' is giving people difficulty? |
