===========STORY============ (may contain spoilers) Black Hole's defeat at the end of the war for the inevitable defeat as the final battle concluded, but much to everyone's dismay, it was not the true end of the great war for Omega Land. Despite that Von Bolt, grand commander of the remaining Black Hole forces, lay a decrepit old man that barely clung to life, he still had one final trump card. No longer did he care about preserving his own life, but ensuring that no others survived to savor the sweet wine of victory... Despite Sturm's demise in the previous war, there was still a backup plan that remained in mind, but was never carried out due to Hawke's unexpected betrayal. Deep within the heart of Omega Land lay a massive industrial complex, and by using a series of winding underground pipelines, materials stolen from the allied nations in previous wars were put to use in the form of manufacturing multiple nuclear warheads, all of which were set to bombard the headquarters of all nations should Sturm's initial plans not succeed. Von Bolt did indeed make great use of this discovery (stumbled upon by Flak, oddly enough), for he was able to amplify the destructive power of said nuclear warheads by nearly 100 fold by enhancing them with what little remained of the energies of the Black Obelisks. His time was soon to end in this world, but thanks to the effort of his loyal minions, the warheads were hastily prepared to launch. A mere 23 days was all that was required for his final revenge on the worlds to be released. Fortunately for the inhabitants of the Allied Nations, this was discovered quickly, and was acted upon immediately, despite the minimal forces that remained after such a taxing war. The four countries immediately made their move to begin their assault on the complex. As long as any of the four control nodes could be reached by any infantry and seized quickly enough, the launch could be stopped. But should they fail... apocalypse, pain and world-wide destruction would follow. The true final battle awaits here and now... (Could this be what sparked the events of Advance Wars: Days of Ruin?) |

================MAP INFORMATION=================== Obviously, this is to be a 4 on 1 battle, all on Black Hole. If Black Hole can survive for 23 days (give or take), he will automatically win. However, if BH loses out on any of the four fronts, that player will lose in turn. Although the whole 'all on black hole' concept is a bit overdone, hopefully this would be different enough to stand out from the others, especially in terms of both play style and the urgency factor for the Allied Nations. The concept for the egg timers at each corner was inspired by themapmaker's Egg Timer map. http://awbw.amarriner.com/prevmaps.php?maps_id=38184 Since the fighters will (if I'm not mistaken) last 21 days before blowing up, the infantry next to each would require 2 days to capture the nearby HQ (this being done to all four at once), hence ending the match immediately. Black Hole should probably be Von Bolt, but any high-rank Black Hole CO would work equally well. Sturm, Kindle and Hawke are all possible considerations for the position. For the four countries, pretty much anyone that isn't a Black Hole CO (except maybe Lash or Hawke) are all valid. Bans should be the broken 5, along with Jess (Extends the timer due to refuelling). BH mustn't be Drake (cuts down the timer due to the COP), but any other player can. Optional would be Eagle; although his timer is shortened due to his D2D, it would still run out eventually. Also, since his allies would die out sooner, there is little way that one player alone would be able to take down Black Hole. If only one player is Eagle, this probably won't be a problem, but banning him would still be best. Due to the nature of this map, units designated as Lab Units will be available only to Black Hole. I'd recommend at least Piperunners and Black Bombs for this, and maybe Black Boats / Neo Tanks as well, since they are all originally BH units. I'm not sure if this is balanced at this point in time, so testing will be required to determine what adjustments are needed. |

10/10, but one thing does bother me. can one not simply use the nuclear missiles to hit each black hole infantry? that would mean that its 24, instead of 23 days. :D edit: also, usage of kindle by the allied nations will also increase the timer through usage of COP. |
|
Volcove (08/14/2008 09:11pm | Edited: 08/14/2008 09:13pm):
Wow... thanks for all the support everyone :D cirriusly - If you do it at the very last second, yes. However, each infantry is on a black hole city (might be hard to see it), so any attempts to damage it early (via either missile or some COPs/SCOPs, including Kindle's) would likely be in vain, since the infantry would be healed within a couple days or so. Besides, I'd much rather favor using it on enemy troops blocking the way to the center rather then stalling the capture for a day or two at best. Also, it is only the center 8 that are the true 'nukes', which are only there for theme purposes. The single missle each nation controls in the corners are just regular ones :/ |

CO_Raven (02/23/2009 07:34pm):
It seems well made but here's a few things to tack on. Eagle or Jess as any non black hole player could extend the time limit by quite a bit due to the effects on fuel. Black Hole could naturally in turn use Drake and his fuel cutting co powers. |
|
Volcove (02/26/2009 03:10pm):
Uh... wow O.o @ Raven - All of this has been already noted in the second post. "Bans should be the broken 5, along with Jess (Extends the timer due to refuelling). " Jess would have to be an automatic ban, sadly, but considering she is relatively low teir, I doubt she will be missed. I doubt BH would be enough of an ass to use Drake, and as long as Eagle isn't used by everyone (Eagle is a somewhat poor choice for BM & YC anyways), it isn't likely to be enough of an issue. |

Its a fun map. My team beat Volcove after he resigned on the 12th day. It seems the map has some balance issues. The combined funds of the team greatly outweigh the lone player. The 4 of us had 121,000 and he had 62,000. |

There's something to be said about Jake being able to blow the timer infantry away with two rockets on his SCOP, but that aside this map looks quite solid and fun! |
