k, so I got the idea for this from Everzwijn in the chat yesterday, who said I should make a map where piperunners can actually be used, so here it is. Also, STORY! YAY! CI continued to struggle against PC as PC tried to invade CI's glacier, but meanwhile, TG began to militarize. They seized a piperunner facility from RF, despite the peace treaty they signed only a few months ago. RF reacted quickly, they ordered the piperunner production facilities to shut down before TG could get a chance to produce them. But will TG defeat RF's forces and fully take all of the piperunner facilities? Or will RF manage to recapture the ones they lost? HOW SHOULD I KNOW? Play on the map and find out for yourselves. GS missles are ghost units, and the bases they cover are healing points for piperunners. Bans: If you don't know who to ban on maps like this by now, then I feel sorry for you. Also if anyone cares, the story was continued from here - http://awbw.amarriner.com/prevmaps.php?maps_id=38403 Textwall/10 |

I don't think I'd want to be GS here. I'd rather have the missile units on those other bases closer to the corners where they wouldn't immediately be under attack by tanks from the nearby base, making them useful for blocking the airports for awhile, although even then artillery could get to them... I guess they'd have to be in that river next to the base to be in range of the airport but not easily attacked by artillery. But at least it's still a better a starting position than BD, I don't think that cruiser will be able to attack anything before getting destroyed, almost as if they're just there to charge the power bars for Red and Teal a little bit. |

There are 2 'g's in Aggressive. |

DualStriker3 (08/26/2008 04:14pm):
I do have 2 g's there... |

I gave DS an idea/10 |

Where's the lab? |

Everzwijn (08/26/2008 04:31pm):
THE LAB IS A LIE |

The unappealing aspect of this is you have to go backwards before you can go forwards. It would seem a waste of resouces to send an APC back to the airport and inf. trundling that way will take 8 turns to capture it. It just seems like a slow start, on a large map why not have more starting cities or starting funds even? Why not make the airport and other base starting properties? Also, its more cost effective to build artillery than piperunners. Three art. seems stronger than a piperunner going back and forth. The player interested in winning (on the offence) wouldnt want to waste resources on a piperunner. Bring the two central pointing pipes forward. Add two bases to the middle. |

DuelStriker (08/26/2008 04:49pm):
There's plenty of properties to capture in the beginning, it does not need more starting funds. The focus of the map isn't the airport, but the fact that piperunners can be used strategically to defend your bases and HQ. Artillery are useful, but piperunners have more range and are key to defending on this map. Hmm... this might be interesting with 1500 funds per property... I should test this soon too. |

Pluss the piperunners can shoot down planes. |

Well, you didn't have to remove BD entirely, but I'm glad you took my advice and fixed that issue. I still think GS should be moved though. Unless you didn't respond to that part because of how amazingly right I am. If this map ever becomes popular, you can just thank me for it. |
