Category 1: Bombers must be common on games by good players.

--> 2 star terrain in a critical area
Units built on the central isle are limited to footsoldiers by the mountains/rivers
blocking the way to the HQs. The footsoldiers will fight for the centralized properties
and for the HQs, too. This is likely to lead to a stalemate of footsoldiers. Bombers can OHKO
footsoldiers that are not guarded enough (0 star: 110%, 1 star: 99%) while Stealths cannot
(0 star: 90%, 1 star: 81%). Since many people will choose COs that give their air units a
boost, I needed to nerf the Stealths - which could OHKO footsoldiers being VB, Hawke,
Eagle or Max - by replacing the plains by forests. Now only Bombers will be as effective
when you use COs like these.
And being effective and being able to quickly break through the meatwall is very important
and makes Bombers be favorized.

--> Defending bases are 7 spaces away from the opposing airport
The central bases will sooner or later change sides because they will be outnumbered 2:1
(or even 2:0 because you have to send every footsoldier to the very center). A soon
takeover is prevented by the pipe seams (which have to be destroyed first and then still
are chokepoints). But because the starting income is very high, you can build Bombers to
harass your opponent's central base. They will have to buy an AA then because any other
unit will just be crushed by the Bomber! Neither the B-Copter nor the Stealth can hit the
freshly built units on that base. This is precious.
This does not end when the bases have changed their owners. No, the airports will change
them, too (Missile lock during midgame), leading to the same procedure as stated before!

--> High funding
25,000 is the maximum income a player can get. It'll take quite long until a player
reaches it, so Stealths will not likely be built because they're slightly more expensive
than Bombers are. Even if a player has got the maximum income, they'd buy "Bomber + 3
Infantry" above "Stealth + 1 Infantry" (unit count theory).

--> Lack of fuel
If a player said "Yes, although I can't OHKO footsoldiers, can't hit the bases, can't
build units to the max, I want to benefit from the fact that my opponent can't see the
Stealth to shoot it with his Fighters", I would have to say "You're a fool".
Stealths have a limited amount of fuel only, and they run empty very quickly when hidden.
APCs can't move to the center, Black Boats will run empty before they finally get to the
central lakes. So unless you have a whole army of Stealths, you will have to interrupt
your attacks quite often. And when surrounded by enemy Infantry, you can pronounce your
Stealth dead.

--> Megatanks
Yea, I adopted that idea from Hellraider and Ultra Storm who both used Megatanks on HQs.
While even Max Stealths only deal about 1 HP damage to them, an Adder Bomber does safe 2
HP damage. So if you tried to HQ cap using Stealths, you would need a lot of time and many
of them.

Good map... But TBH I would still stick with Bcopters for awhile due to their cost
effectiveness and probably toss in a bomber or two from extra cash ( Lets face it, mostly
making infantry + that one arty and maybe an AA and missile to lock down that airport - course
if you are going after their base almost the same story anyways :-) )

Also, I think you should actually try it in games to see whether bombers are better than
stealths.
tst5381 (10/28/2008 09:21am):
btw, maybe I will choose to spam fighters on this map...
(they are good meatshields and much cheaper lol)

Very nice looking map! However, you did pick the hardest category, and good try.
