Looks cool, BUT... ... what exactly do you expect on this map to happen? The focus will be on B-Copters // Stealths because invasions are impossible as soon as the shoals are locked by 2 Infantry units. So both players would spam Mechs and Infantry units, possibly a few Missiles to limit the aircraft's ranges. In the end, both players will spam Fighters to kill the opponent's aircraft. I don't like it. Except for the fact that the map looks somewhat awesome. |

For category 1 of the mapping contest: "Bombers must be common on games by good players." http://www.amarriner.com/awbw_forum/viewtopic.php?t=10677 To accomplish this: 1. Vehicle movement is hindered by mountains and rivers. Players are unable to bring tanks to attack the HQs. 2. Rockets are only able to hit the enemy HQs from your opponent's controlled side. 3. An income of 15k (when urbans are equally shared). 4. The airport is 13 squares away from the enemy HQs. [Edit: Miscount on my part, its 14; with their adjacent attack square being 13.] The tanks on home base idea comes from Power of Flower by Hellraider; an excellent idea to push for bombers (see forum thread for link to HR's map). I don't know the CO's well enough to suggest bans beyond the Trio. As per the contest, BB is banned. Suggestions/comments welcomed. Harti1990: My appreciation for your criticism. I forgot that I had published this and needed to attach a note, and having an unbiased opinion on the Stealths is useful. "Except for the fact that the map looks somewhat awesome." Wohoo! Ah! I already thought you'd want this to fit category 1. However, Bombers have to be "common" on the map. I think that many people will give Bombers a try but they can easily be killed by Missiles and Fighters. Stealths can be killed by Fighters, too, but it's just more safe to use Stealths which cannot be hit by Missiles, together with Mechs or Infantry to surround them. Jake might be chosen here a lot, enabling Rockets to aim at the enemy HQ with (S)COP. With Jake, it'll also be easier for the Missiles to take down Bombers. Sami will do an overwhelming Mech Spam and totally rock on COP. Maybe even get one of the bases, too. But yeah, Bombers will be built here. But I think not often enough. Just an assumption, I might be wrong. I also see you removed the ports to cancel any possible invasion. (But apart from criticism: Perfect thoughts on the criteria and the map is very good!) |

Harti1990: "Jake might be chosen here a lot." I designed it with the ban of Grit in mind to prevent your own side having an easy day with rockets. For the spirit of the map, Jake would need a ban too. |
