This map is not for playing on. Do not criticise it as a map for playing on if you do not wish to appear foolish.

So, what is this map? It's an example of how a corner of a larger map can be set aside to enforce a time limit on a player - in this case, BM.

The Stealth burns 5 fuel a day, and carries 60 fuel. It has to stay on the HQ to prevent an HQ capture. On day 12, it will crash and burn; on day 14, OS will finish an HQ capture.
Therefore, BM must ensure a victory on the main front by the end of day 13.

This concept can be adapted by using different air or naval units with different fuel stocks and consumption rates.

Note that this has a few limitations: the 'eggtimer' MUST be kept out of range of indirects on the main front; COs with fuel-affecting abilities (Jess, Drake, Eagle) can either shorten or
indefinitely prolong the timer; Sami can shorten the timer by one day with an instant capture; and mass damage COs (Sturm, Hawke, Drake, Von Bolt, Rachel, Olaf) have the potential to
prolong the timer by one or more days by damaging the infantry.

This was made as a modification to themapmaker's excellent development of my original eggtimers map (now deleted due to obsolescence); http://awbw.amarriner.com/prevmaps.php?
maps_id=38184 is a fantastic development, however black tiles can be glitchy and are not always accessible - this map removes the need for them.

actually, aiming missles at the stealth can shorten it further

Who gave this a 1?

I think that maps that help you count 3 or 14 days are pretty useful and there's lots of
reasons to create tons of them.
themapmaker (01/03/2009 02:58pm):
I counter-rated it with a 10. Sorry I have an obsession with black tiles, but this is
definitely more practical.
themapmaker (01/03/2009 02:59pm):
Btw amtch, how does aiming missiles at the stealth shorten it? The only thing that
matters is fuel, not HP. Unless you meant the unit missiles? Or did you mean silos?
lindsay40k (02/27/2010 09:48pm):
I believe amthc was referring to Missile units, which in any case I mention in the OP - keep this setup tucked away
in a corner away from the actual battlelines!

This might be your best map!
