This may turn out to be a rush-for-hq map seeing as its 3 bases + airport vs 2 bases guarding the hq. **EDIT** Nice changeup, defiantly better now. |

Forgotten Infantry (02/21/2024 05:35pm):
Current iteration is 2b1a vs 1b so it is essentially a base race. Preserving your unit count on the 1 base side is paramount to delaying the inevitable loss of your 1 base side. Interrupt what you can safely but don't risk too much. In contrast, you want to be aggressive on your 2b1a side without losing too much. Artilleries are going to be very vital on the 2 city side to force them to either take losses or give up territory in that area for any CO that isn't Javier or Kanbei. Those same artilleries are also going to be used to fend up any heavy units and to base lock. There will be some fighting on the center but the only two properties that are remotely contestable are the ones next to the road and even then they will fall to the aggressor side. Rather, the actual fighting will happen if both side cap the enemy base relatively at the same time. Whoever gets the base first will have initiative and able to grab more center properties before the other side does. A problem will occur if the rare moment where neither side can leverage an advantage at the center and it starts becoming stally due to one front and neither side will want to venture past the road columns. |

I hate base rush, these are the maps who need the less thinking. 1/10 |

Le mao, imagine strategising over a map and not freestyling it like a real man (and historically accurate commander) |
MontySigurdson (07/12/2025 05:37am | Edited: 08/16/2025 08:56pm):
This has capture skip strats and base skip strats exclusive to P1; these lead to a bit of FTA I think. To elaborate on this, if P1 goes for fastest income, they can get a Copter as first vehicle on day 5 if they baseskip; P1 will still be able to afford a tank on day 6 though (without baseskipping this time). Since tank order is BAAB, it's reasonable to assume that P2 has built a tank already and won't be able to afford an AA on day 6. So P1 will get at least one free Copter hit unless P2 withdraws all their units towards their 1b and builds an AA there. The Copter can then go towards the middle (while staying in range of the 1b) and keep threatening a Copter lock on the 1b or interrupt captures. If it keeps threatening the baselock, it also ties up the AA so that it has to either stay near the base or so that P2 has to build a 2nd one. If the Copter goes towards the 1b side, P2 probably will have to build another AA over there. Alternatively, P1 can skip two early captures and still get the intended BAAB tank order while P2 cannot skip anything if they don't want to miss out on their first tank. But to be fair, I think just going for the fast caps and baseskipping for Copter or getting a tank and banking the extra money for later is probably way better for P1. Still, this is another option that P1 gets and P2 does not. So overall I'd definitely want to be P1 here. Even ignoring all that, if the 1bs trade (which looks to be the intention here), the map should stall quite a bit as there's not a lot to fight over in the middle (and not a lot of space either). The HQs are also very secure so the game likely won't be decided by HQ cap either. So considering all these issues, I'll downrank this to B for now. |
