This version is better. I like it. None of your ports are shoal-locked and there is more
room for naval units to maneuver. Important properties are contested though, which is
generally considered a bad thing, and there are choke points around the perimeter. 7/10

single tiles along the bridges and beside the mountains that are bordered by a beach.

seems fine to me unless that was intended to be complimenting them for not making this map
entirely open.

The problem with choke points is most evident when they dominate the map. These are just
enough to make things more interesting.

Could we possibly be doing with an extra base to start off with for each team?

It seems awkward that you have to choose bewteen going for the outside or the center
first, unless that was the point.
