So, I decided to try my hand at making a map using the random knowledge I've picked up here about designing maps well. I think it's pretty good for a first effort, but any advice you guys might have is welcome. |

I tend to be pretty picky as far as maps go but I like this one. Its a good map but I think you did one thing takes a lot away from it. You have a border of plains going around the edge of the map which makes it look a lot more open and bland than it really is. If you recreate this map one size smaller for height and width, I think it will make a drastic improvement. Apart from the border issue, I can't see much wrong with this map. In fact I really like the design and the base placement, I think it will make for an interesting battle. |

Yeah, much better without that border around it I kinda liked the way you used to have the roads and bases better, but thats up to you Either way its a good map 9/10 |

Truthfully, I liked it better that way too, with the roads and bases, but people in the design forum told me that I should get rid of some of them because it was too prone to having recon rushes. |

There, now the roads are linked up better again, and the bases are back where they originally were, but it would be harder for either team to try to rush to the farther base with a recon to prevent the opponent from capturing it, so it should be a pretty good compromise I hope. |

It's definitiley good for a fist map. But it does lack any real uniqueness to it. |

It wasn't really intended to be unique at all, in fact. I just wanted to make a simple two player map so I could get my basic mapmaking skills down a bit better. |
