Harti1990 (02/04/2009 05:48am):
Might have been funnier if you had used pipes with turns to make them look like snakes.
It seems that you really like pipes and seams, at least that's what your maps tell. But
you should really avoid using pipes overall since no unit can cross them. Use mountains or
rivers or anything comparable instead.

You CAN use pipes but please not this way. They cramp the ongoing action, the seams
encourage Artillery use and, additionally to that, they enforce stalemates. And it takes
about 23847912836418273649 ages to break through to the middle. All you get is 2 cities. WEEE!

I don't think there's either enough funds or room for 4 bases and 3 airports here.
Also, I spot 2 symmetry failures.
DuelStriker (02/04/2009 03:26pm):
I agree with harti on the pipes, and Everz is right too. Also, I don't understand the
precaptured comm towers, what's wrong with having to send infantry to capture them?
Kruegstr (02/04/2009 04:56pm | Edited: 02/04/2009 04:57pm):
Thanks for the comments; I have edited the map. To answer Duel Striker's question, the
com tower on the edge of the map are close to being contestable, and it doesn’t matter
very much, so I am just leaving these precaptured.

Yes Harti1990, I like pipes. Pipes are the only land that can restrict where planes go; I
wouldn’t mind if another piece of land was incorporated into AWBW that could restrict a
planes movement, such as an underground tunnel or something. Hypothetically, if I
replaced every pipe with a mountain, then the match would be an overwhelming air battle.
Planes could move between the three main battle fields (the middle and two sides), and so
it would take many anti airs to restrict where the air units could move. So I have left the
pipes in the middle. I have replaced the pipes on the sides with mountains, that way
planes cannot move from one side of the map to the other so quickly, and the sides are
less crammed to help prevent a stalemate.

I also made two com towers in the middle, so that players have something to win by taking
the middle. I am open to more suggestions; I am not sure if 3 com towers are too many per
player and if 27,000 G is enough money, and I would love to hear more criticism of how I
incorporate pipes into many of my maps.
