maps need some "concept" or something... i dont get the connection with title? OK its a predeployed map with early combat .... but the units you have chosen seem to be fairly random then randomly placed in fairly random sized groups which are exposed and very close to the enemy and so doesnt feel too natural its like suddenly waking up in the middle of someone elses war which is already well underway .... i d suggest maybe just two divisions of units per player, and well seperated from the enemy, this will make fta balancing easier too.... though you need to make sure each team has fair chance of access to major resources like central bases and airports. |

Sheesh if you're gonna follow a link in the forum read what I bloody wrote too ¬_¬ to quote myself: "The concept of this map being FoW and a more militarized form of immigration, lots of decisions to make early on which could affect the whole game, when I eventually publish the damn thing probably starting funds 20k+ to compensate for the late start + fixing stuff early on + making rushes viable Issues are basically: I don't like the fighter placement, not sure what to do about it (tried switching them but hated that even more), might reduce it down to 1 but since there's 3 options to use the fighters for that'll be really quite constrictive. 1) Protect your stealth 2) Attack enemy stealth 3) threaten+harass expeditionary force B-cops. I have no idea how the balance FTA on this, I can't just advance the units by half a turn because major decisions in strategy need to be made from day 1...... And if you've gotten any ideas about better terraining I'm all open ears, I dislike the actual look of the map itself, dunno why just dislike it..... " and also: "Actually I *guess* as a crappy FTA counter you could just say play 2 matches, if it's a draw keep playing pairs of matches till someone wins 2 in a row" sorta like deuce. bans: Brokens, Sonja, maybe Sturm, Andy for being nasty in pre-deployed, whoever the hell else you want to. edit: the name is a pun on "Cloud Computing" and if you really want to know what that is then wiki it. |

I *guess* if you really want a reason for why there are pre-deployed troops: "The 2 faction suddenly realized the beneficial properties of one of the compounds in the numerous forests in the area, sending out an all hands rally call they summoned all available units in the nearby area to the fight. Sadly the most prepared force arrived well before the enemy but before they could ready themselves for a lightening strike for the enemy HQ, defenders arrived. They are now placed in a difficult situation because they're surrounded by enemy forces and are uncertain about where on earth they should go next. The Stealth Armada also messed up and arrived on the field in a retarded place in-between enemy formations. Depending on how they fight they'll either be a thorn in the enemies side or a detachment just waiting to be killed. The air superiority squadron (along with attached scouts so they can actually see wtf they're doing) has arrived in an opportune place with a variety of strategic options available. They do however run the risk of being forced into combat by ground based AA and so must think carefully before committing themselves to any particular action and a tactical retreat may be the order of the day so they can live to fighter another day." (and yes that was another really, *really* bad and unfunny pun) |
