This is a map I actually made for my AW Days of Ruin game, so I spent a little bit more than an hour converting every bit of detail to this website. I think it turned out pretty nice :) I hope everyone can enjoy it. |

Hm... Here are a few tips. Start by making most of the properties neutral so players actually have to work to get their money. I know this looks accurate and cool geographically and historically speaking, but AWBW practically speaking, it's not that great. First of all the properties are all unevenly distributed. OS gets 23 properties, YC gets 16, TG gets 17, and poor GS gets 15. Also, GS has no way of fighting on land really. They're stuck on two islands which YC could assault quite easily. OS gets an enormous stretch of land and more bases than anybody while GS gets TWO. Do you not see the unevenness? Try and fix these things and let's see how it turns out. 6/10 for now though. |

Hmm.. I guess I didn't make-up for the fact that Days of Ruin has different units and such. I will edit this within the next few days when I get a chance, thanks for the tips :) |

Alright, changes I've made include the following: 1.) The area where OS held before on the tip of the shoe, is now all neutral, providing GS a chance for more land, while providing more competition there. 2.) All Factories and Cities have been reduced to, Cities(3) Factories(1) where you must capture the buildings around you to achieve Cities(5) Factories(3) 3.) There are no starting units except for GS to defend that little island. 4.) Because I reduced the number of starting buildings, there are now neutral Cities in the middle providing more competition. 5.) I hope this has made things a little bit more even :) |

there are quite a bit too many bases for the low amount of cities do´tcha think?, also OS seems to get all the bases through italy´s boot, they are close to OS,consider removing some bases or put them elsewhere |
Trickeryzz (07/11/2009 09:30am | Edited: 07/11/2009 02:06pm):
Well I had OS have a greater advantage over the others because OS is in the middle of the conflict of TG and YC, and will have to fight a war on "two fronts", and also may be conflicting with GS, so making it a defense against three (unless teams are put in effect). As for the cities, meh, I'll do a little something about the amount. **Update: I added a shoreline to the bottom of the neutral area around the boot and reduced some cities, not many though. as for that factories, I don't think they're that much of a problem. |

Hmm... GS can lock YC's ports with indirects |

this map is too unbalanced. the game i'm playing right now has Grey sky domination. a few tweaks to make them weaker but still be involved in the main conflict are needed. it looks nice though. |
Nyvelion (12/26/2014 02:39pm):
I like how the map is called Italy and only one army starts in Italy. |
JulytheAverage (12/04/2022 10:21am):
I have a game atm and Grey just dominating every other faction as they have way too safe of a bstarting position, combine with early income, and somehow they have the most access to neutral properties, Grey is pretty much uncontested winner of the map as a result, also Teal capture phase is so bad cause they have all these mountain between them and their close property, and the fact that they go last pretty much unplayable |
tegumentoso (11/09/2023 04:25am):
i would put more mountains in the north (source: i'm from Trento XD ) |
DoctorDJJones (09/19/2024 10:47pm):
The way im seeing it, GS is too strong. Yellow and teal are going to be needing to fight OS for viable property in the north, meaning OS has to use more of their funding to go up there to prevent a rush instead of wasting a large amount of funding for a BB in order to get the island in the south. GS has absoluely no enemies until anyone has enough money saved up to buy naval units, so they can just hoard cash before dumping it on a big navy. The lack of airports means that the only way to really deal with GS is with your own piddly little navy which wont be big enough by the time you can stop worrying about the land assaults. GS can easily get 18k per turn before literally anyone else can. |
