OS > BM
GE > JS
YC > BD

BD is in the worst position on this map with his bases split up like that, most BD players
will end up quitting on this map within the first ten turns. The player who is the next
worse off is BM who won't stand a change against OS. GE has an advantage over JS, however,
they have a decent distance between one another such that JS probably won't lose for a while.

After YC destroys BD and he captures his island he will ultimately attack OS which will
cause problems for him. As such I think YC and GE are the armies who are best off on this map.
Nyvelion (03/23/2014 10:32am):
YC crushes BD. Juhni got it right this time.
elcrawfish (12/26/2018 09:34am):
I'm actually going to take the unpopular stance and say BD has a chance (not a good one,
but a chance) of surviving if OS teammate is aggressive enough about helping them out, or
if YC spends too much time trying to attack OS in italy before conquering the home front.
If you look at it purely from a single-player perspective, OS and YC are clearly the most
advantaged, being much better positioned than their only relevant enemies. But since this
is a TEAM game OS actually has to burden the most responsibility out of anyone and could
potentially find themselves fighting two wars with one army.

Good map anyhow, interested to see how it plays out
BurningStarFour (06/14/2021 01:21pm):
Playing on this one now as a FFA, and boy - I knew as BD I was going to be out pretty quick, but I didn't realize it was going
to be THIS quickly and so easy for YC (especially as Grit) to do it. BD really needs a 2nd base on the mainland or at least a
more fighting chance at the neutral base. As it stands, YC easily reached the neutral first, and so without a threat on the
other front to worry about, YC had a 3-1 base advantage. BD can make a fast break for the neutral base and it will be
contested for several turns, but because BD can't both focus on expansion on the mainland AND taking the neutral due to
lack of a 2nd base to produce an APC or other infantry, YC will eventually win the neutral and still have a funding imbalance.

In team play, this may be a little less lopsided, but honestly, there are no team mates close enough to really be of any
assistance. Sea assault is expensive, and if you're several turns away from even GETTING to the shore... well, you know
how that plays out.

Such a stupid map.
blankpuppet (02/07/2023 12:43am):
disagree strongly with the criticism on this map.
every nation has a unique strength that gives them a good edge on the map (except brown desert, rip 1 factory).

Green earth has to crush JS quickly so they control the Balkans, this giving them enough funds to stop the deadlock
between them OS and BM. they also have the most defensible position on the map if its a FOW battle with lots of good
forest placements

Jade sun can't get a navy early game so they can only expand in one direction, this gives them a unified front to attack GE.
If GE can't rebuff the 2 front war then Jade sun replaces their position, and their army will be strong enough to keep the
deadlock. GE and JS both then get a large pool of funds to build a navy and army, furthermore, their primary targets need
to rush an early navy so they don't get zoned out by a bship, so their mainland armies are weaker.

Orange star has a clear frontline the po valley, and they easily can defend with ranged units and mechs. they also have the
closest port to Sicily and Sardinia. meaning if BM or YC or BD doesn't rush an early navy they will be denied future naval
expansion. this allows orange star to focus on building an economy then casually taking over Tunisia.

Blue moon is the most defensible position in a standard game. they can only be attacked in the direction they need to
expand and will have an strong army, they also can contest OS for Corsica early game.

YC will most likely defeat BD due to the factory disadvantage. and their primary concern is naval dominance. which they can
spare the quality of their mainland army due to the ease of defeating BD

BD rip factory placement...
