Alright, well, here's my second map (third if you count Dunes v1). Comments and criticism are welcome, seeing as making the shape of the lotus was tricky. I was also scared the shape might not go through so well after all the terrain and buildings had been placed. I wasn't exactly where to put the FTA Counter (PC Infantry), so I stuck it on the mainland. Secondly, I'm not quite sure how the middle, lower area will work out. I thought putting properties on there might be too chaotic, so I just added empty silos. Lastly, the rivers are in the middle to help break stalemates, for Mechs and Infantry to wade across. Might make Mech pushes a bit more viable than I would've liked, but the Factories are spread further apart to try and ward that tactic away, at least in the early-game. Let me know if something should be changed, and try not to vote without commenting, please. |

I'm afraid that the center is too choked, and that the map will stalemate too easily. You might want to remove some of those mountains in the center, and maybe put a couple of cities in the center as well. |

remove the river tile at the top of the flower and couple mountains as DS said. pre-owning a BBOAT wouldnīt be bad either. another thing is that you canīt capture the neutral port at the south, cus it has no land around it to unload units. |

Well, the neutral Port at the bottom was to open up the passage-way a bit, while still giving the shape of the 'stem'. It also gives a bit of defense should a Naval battle occur. I could change it to Shoal, but I'm not sure. But, alright. Thanks for the tips thus far. As for pre-owning a BlackBoat, I was skeptical of doing so because of the Shoal north of the HQ's. EDIT: Well, okay. I made the bottom a Shoal instead of a Port, so as to avoid confusion, I suppose. Tried my best at opening up the middle while adding a few more reasons to fight there. Not sure if it'll work out, but that's what feedback's for. As for the Black Boats, I put them near their respective HQs to give a bit of time before they can do much, but still gives the infantry some mobility. Should I move them, or leave them? |

In the center area between the HQs, you should probably remove the two mountains, and add 2 cities there as well, to draw the fight to that area a little more. |

Well, alright. But I'd still like some confirmation on my other points. As it seems, and as much as I appreciate the advice, the way you're listing them off makes it seem like you're disregarding them. I think what I'm most concerned about is the BlackBoat placement. Is it fine as is? |

if youīre filling unconfortable about the bboats, you can put the in the sea to the south. so they take more time reaching their respective bases. iīm giving a suggestion here, and it is most likely to not work out well considering the map, extensive play test and map terrain-city rearrange will be needed too, but there goes: first: the map is chokey, really chokey, and it will have a lot of issues with arty-spamming, as it has at most, two ground fronts. sea battle can be an attention drawer, but an expensive and unlikely one, naval transport to the other side is even more unlikely, a single sub or arty line convering most important shoals would make enemy landers and bboats useless, also it would be better to just spam copters anyway since there are airports. why? well, itīs left vs right. my actual advice to this is that, you may switch the corner island bases around, making the enemy HQ to be threatened from the north,(switchin PC base to the left and YC one to the right.) this will make naval transport and Bships a more useful option. while having even more front variety, but as i said, this is up to you if you want to go ahead and test this for yourself, becasue it may just alter the gameplay completely. as for the rest of the ports, they all look good, you may another one near the HQs if you had like. |

Actually, funny you should mention the swapping of the bases. I originally had it as you said, with the main-land bases the same as they are now, but the corner bases reversed. I figured it might be too easy to exploit, so I changed it to just being a standard left versus right, as you said. I guess I'll change it back, as it does seem like a better way to place more significance on the Naval forces. If it seems like there's some irregularities in the testing or what not, then I'll change it back to standard. Yes, the main-land is chokey. But given the fragile design of the lotus, that was bound to be a problem. I'll try adding more Shoals to open more tight locations, if people deem it so. I'm not sure how to go about doing that right now, but I appreciate the feedback and advice. I'll get to editing when it's possible for me. |
