For sure bans: Subs
If you wanna bans: Stealths, Black Bombs, Piperunners, all sea units

I remade this map because there was a city missing, and I figured this way was quicker
than just ending the games on it. Or editing an already published black square map messes
with stuff, or something. I furget the rools.

Anywho, I changed a few other details because I could. There is now a penguin trapped
horribly in a void in the center of the map for all time. Also black boats and subs
because loliunno.

Rate lowly if you hate maps that aren't just like every other map!

The state of map design in general on this site seems to be in a state of stagnation. Every
day I see maps getting a 10/10 or 9/10 that look exactly the same, or follow the same exact
blueprint because No you wouldn't want to piss off Nerdboy now would you. Either way
greatness is merely average now, as even the A-rank maps stick to the same maddening
blueprint for "success", even maps that break the mold have the same boring
terrain "variation". Somebody trying something new (and playable) is usually chastised for
screwing up the formula the map making forums hold dear to their hearts. Heck, even I'll
admit that my 2-player maps are generic in design and intent.

What is needed for this map-making community to survive for at least a little while more is to
allow some gamechanging designs to take precedence over designs that just maintain an
increasingly dull status quo. Red 11 had some very good map ideas, and a few other
mapmakers of note have made excellent maps (benbever's Rivers Of Blue Moon is an
extremely good example). The infamous Europe Map (), while it may have been
overambitious, is probably the best example of what is needed to stimulate new growth and
creativity.
What may become more of a focus, is FFA, Immigration, Large maps with MORE THAN 2
players. The shackles of the 2 player system is all too apparent when you take a look at the
S-Rated maps, displaying ideas that were cutting edge in their time, but have now become
as plain as water. Hell, most FFA MAPS just plain look better, and play better, and yet the
stigma of these maps not being as worthy as 2-Player experiences prevents really great
mapmakers from straying past the 2-player limit too often, which creates a black hole of
creativity, and which has led to our current state of affairs.
The examples I have cited above are indeed 2-player maps, but switch a few buildings
around, and they could easily become FFA Masterpieces. What I am advocating here is
putting at least a bit more emphasis on maps outside the established canon, allow people to
make these maps and have them be appraised as equals to the 2-player experience. It's
simply a cop-out to say that people drop out of games too often, but the point being missed is
that those dropouts alter the dynamics of a game, and this situation can actually be more fun
if you have a good strategic mind. You could also avoid the problem if you design maps
ASSUMING that someone will eventually drop out, and that htem dropping out can subtly alter
gameplay in a good way, if we take the Massive Europe map as an example, we find that
one or two players dropping out does not necessarily end the game, it in fact does create a
whole new scenario for remaining players.

All in all, we may have to take a look at our roots. We all started out as the poor guys who
create maps with bare bones designs, with little to no terain variation, chokepoints up the
irons, and way overpowered factions. What was so powerful an attraction to putting out
these kinds of maps in the first place was the giddy rush of fielding massive armies to
pummel our foes into dust, which were basically just shoving matches of endurance, and
these types of maps (not the broken ones mind you, I am talking about the bare bones maps
with a certain flair, however amateurish, to their design) can be fun, if the mindset of pure
adrenaline is followed. What I would preferrably like to see happen is a new wave of maps
that combine the best traits of the great 2-player maps, with the giddy, unstoppable, fun, of
beginner maps, a map that could pull this off right could concievably be the best map ever
created (don't be going "Oh well these maps are better because they follow the rules to the
damn letter", there may be some truth that these are "playable", but that doesn't mean that
they are fun). Get the NOOBS energy, and combine it with the age-old techniques of the
masters is all I'm saying.
That and more 3-8 player maps would be nice.
Ending rant now:)

tl;dr
did like the idea of more 3 player maps though
