you should add more bridges ot move some terrain around, like this the fronts are situated on the bridges and river chokes, which might led to some stalemates and clogging of indirects, you should let some open space to take place on figtht. |

Yeah I don't know actually rob. Due to the way the bases are positioned the side fronts shouldn't choke too badly. The center is one massive chokefest though, you should definitely open it up a bit and take away some of the properties. |

the side fronts won´t choke for the first turns, but they will once the game starts to heat up, its a 2 base vs 1 front, so the two bases (which have the openess on their side) will push on the other base fairly fast to the point of driving it to the bridges, the easiest place to protect from and yet the lone base can protect all their cities too. EDIT: on second thought, ive changed my mind and i think you should leave the map as it is, sure it is chokey as walkerboh and me have phylosophed about it, but unchoking the center might make units to drag and clog there only, the map might actually turn from chokey, to too open, and centerized fronts usually are bad because they tend to drag the units form other fornts there. |

Thanks for the feedback everyone, you make some good points. I think there needs to be a bit of a choke in front of the starting labs to help the 1 base from being overwhelmed before a fight develops in the center, and like airob said, that means that the center can't be too open or else it would suck all the units there. However, I'm not sure I couldn't stand to open it up a little bit before that becomes a problem. I can't edit the map right now because games are being played on it, but if I could I think I would add in a pair of bridges in the center, between the road bridge and the 3 way river tile. If that dud open it up too much I could always add in another mountain somewhere to balance it out a bit. If I made that change, I think boh's right and I should move some of the properties away from the center. Right now there are a lot of them there mostly because I thought people would need the extra encouragement to fight there. @Eligitine: IMO it's prettier to use roads as bridges if they connect roads, and actual bridges if they don't. It kinda bothers me otherwise, since actual bridges don't get rid of the dotted lines. I can see how you would disagree. |
