Not bad, this is a pretty decent concept. I think it would be better if there was more than one
bridge crossing the rivers though, that could lead to some stalemate problems.

Another general comment is to try to make the maps less blocky and geometric. The
aesthetics could use quite a bit of work. Try curving the rivers and roads, using clumps of
forests or mountains, etc. Even spacing and straight lines just doesn't look that good.
