Red11 (04/21/2011 11:26pm):
Kinda challenging looking. Give BM a Mech to compensate for fta. |

PrimeIntellect (04/21/2011 11:36pm):
BM has the extra city at (1,14), and any opening OS has, I can think of a counter to it with BM. I'll see how this playtest goes, though (I'm BM). Thanks for the input. |

The city counter isn't enough to counter both the FTA of the predeployed units and the FTA of OS being able to build from both of their bases first. You should get rid of the preowned city for BM, add a BM infantry on one of the neutral bases and then move all of BM's preowned units forwards by half a turn. Even then I doubt this map will be quite balanced... |

What do you think about trashing all the PDs and just having an artillery on BMs HQ? |
|
PrimeIntellect (04/22/2011 09:41am):
Both HQs, rather. |

I would be strongly in favor of that. You'll still need an extra BM infantry on one of the bases too though to counter FTA. |

PrimeIntellect (04/22/2011 11:56am):
I'm a bit leery of giving BM an infantry as an FTA counter. Oftentimes it's far too much. It's an entire unit that BM gets permanently and can capture properties at a much faster rate as a result. As it stands now, BM is able to build an APC + Infantry on turn 1, which is, in my opinion, more than enough to counter FTA, as getting to the neutral factory is priority 1 at gamestart. |

Ugh, disregard this post. |
|
walkerboh01 (06/11/2011 02:52pm):
Nope, the infantry counter is the proper counter. You see, if you don't have an infantry, then OS is deploying from 2 bases first and BM is deploying from one first. By adding the infantry, you're saying that BM and OS are both deploying from one base first (assuming BM would build an infantry first, which is a good assumption). |
