Pure naval combat - to be played with lots of money (at least 5000, 7000+ recommended),
with FOW optional (although recommended). Shoals are present to give landers an advantage
(use 'em to block stuff or whatever). Will you fight for control of the center, or sneak
around the edges? This map is also usable in AW1/2 with a few minor changes.
COeagle (05/05/2005 10:06pm):
Nice. 8/10!
stealthfire (05/06/2005 07:24am):
well its wierd...
it shows GE and YC fighting each other but there is some ports that belong to other
countries. Why? its really wierd scince you cant capture property
Dullahan (05/06/2005 10:30pm):
The color is mostly for variety - it looks better than a bunch of neutral properties plus
it's easier to distinguish between them. The "neutral" ports serve as bridges and areas of
increased defense (battleships, anyone?). It's meant to be solely naval combat - no
worrying about capturing or anything like that.
aoineko (05/08/2005 02:34pm):
I like it alot, except for where green and yellow are right next to eachother... I'd have to play it before i rated it
though.
aoineko (05/09/2005 09:35am):
okay, i've changed my mind about the opposing ports being so close together. but I would
recoment giving each side another two cities/whatever incause anyone neglects starting
funds/ funds per city per turn. i like the concept so much that i've started working on an air
version that will hopefuly be as entertaining.
Dullahan (05/10/2005 12:38pm):
I added a few more properties, including a port next to the HQ that only produces
landers/battleships.
borgez (05/17/2005 07:26pm):
Now this would be a cool map to also make as a pre deployed map without any funds so you
can replenish your fleets. They could still repair though in their home ports. Very cool
idea. I love Ocean maps anyways.
Dullahan (05/20/2005 12:51am):
Good idea... I'll add predeployed units after the game finishes
LordPyro (05/28/2005 08:52pm):
I think it would be somehow better if you could manage to fit some more cities in the area to
get more funds
if not then the best bets for this are colin sensei and hatchi
colin can get the units out with little money
sensei can make infantry and mech therefore being able to take over more property
and hatchi being able to buy more units without bases
not to mention the discount is nice too
LordPyro (05/28/2005 08:52pm):
err forgot to add
7
Dullahan (05/31/2005 12:22am):
I left out cities precisely for that reason. Sensei's powers are useless and Hachi, while still
formidable with the nearly constant 50% price cut, cannot build other land units. That's why I
recommend a high fund setting. It'd be interesting to see Eagle vs. Eagle...
Dullahan (06/14/2005 10:42am):
Now new and improved with predeployed b-ships :)
Dullahan (06/19/2005 02:15pm):
Also, please note my original recommendation in the first post to set funds to above 5000.
Mr. Warhammer (01/07/2006 04:03am):
duracell, that map is factory of batteries? 1.1.0. logic will be, that 1.1.0 is points
silver.arrow (01/21/2006 05:58pm):
It would be funny.. Drake vs drake
Ultra Storm (03/17/2006 01:48pm | Edited: 03/17/2006 01:48pm):
If one of the players changes his/her colour to one of the colours of the ports without the
HQ, he/she will get hose ports. That's not good.
Armageddon07 (02/28/2009 07:08pm):
no one can actually win at this map... 1/10
Tenebrae Patruus (12/03/2009 09:46am):
You can win only be destroying all opposing units.
Nyvelion (08/13/2012 05:02pm):
They can win. Building nothing doesn't work because of the starting battleships, a good
precaution.
