Master Knight DH (10/23/2011 04:20am | Edited: 10/23/2011 05:02am):
This map is more or less in an experimental stage. Just be glad I even came up with all the terrain placements, considering stuff like this is not my forte. By the way, the enemy side properties are intentional. But again, this map is in an experimental stage, so for example, the enemy back attack front Airport may be rather much. I'll gladly change that if it turns out 2P overruns the north front too easily because 1P is forced to grab the Airport there. And yes, I'm aware the map is kind of chokey. Not much I can do about it, sadly. Edit: ....now that I think about it, there's only 4 Cities at most there to contest, so I got rid of the FTA counter Airport and altered the terrain. But I still would want Blue to have funding. And prevent Red from overrunning the north front too easily itself. Edit again: southern mountain formation modified to stop dumb forward Factory sniping. |

I can't edit the map until the current match finishes. But anyway, I'm suspecting FTA right now. I'm thinking making one of the Communication Towers pre-owned by 2P, who can't abuse the additional attack power. I can either do 1P for a simple 4000G total funds, or 2P for 6000G and better back attack front positioning. Hmm....... |

Much like Metaknight doth dominate Brawl, verily doth Orange Star dominate this map. |

Master Knight DH (12/07/2011 01:22am):
No, Meta Knight does not dominate Brawl. Unless you're talking about that disgrace you call the metagame. But you're welcome to get pwned by my Link. However, I'm catching onto the FTA via Light Tank spammage. Soon as I finish the match, I got an idea on how to tone it down, and I WISH it was an anti-tank car, stop acting like it's the ONLY good idea I could have in mind, walker. I designed this map from scratch, and considering there's a match where infantry numbers are dropped to sub-70% before long and COP meter chargeup isn't high, I must be doing something right. |

"I WISH it was an anti-tank car, stop acting like it's the ONLY good idea I could have in mind, walker." How sweet, you assume that every random person is me! I'm touched, truly. =D |

I beseech of thee that thy vitriol be withdrawn, for I be not the Walkerboy thee begrudge. I merely spoke Orange Star gains great advantage for he doth have first production from four factories, whilst Blue Moon have naught. Metaknight and Link art 70:30 betwixt, championing Link doth be folly. |

And there's only a 14 minute separation between comments. Totally a coincidence. By the way, Xenesis doesn't hold grudges. Why should you? Whatever, I'm aware that BM's early funds advantage and ability to choose aren't as strong as I are like, although Blue Moon isn't entirely helpless. http://awbw.amarriner.com/game.php?games_id=159115 I was 2P Grimm VS 1P Eagle, yet I managed a blatant advantage--granted, the opponent was making blunders. (Not that I was playing perfect, Day 15.) Speaking of advantage, the only reason why the opponent didn't white flag was because I had to keep my attention divided between 3-4 fronts, and the only way either player wins is by managing overwhelming control on all of them. So while I'm less mindful of B-Copters' buff against Light Tanks in Days of Ruin now, that doesn't mean they're useless on this map at all. Not even close. They have enough good points to ensure that having a good AA force is critical. So being able to tank well is a must here, unlike in the disgrace you call Brawl's metagame, where getting hit/grabbed once means you die easily to some chaingrab/infinite and lose the match, so dumb. Still, there was FTA, and I have fixed it along with other balance issues, but do not underestimate defensive teching, not on this map. It can easily keep you alive. Of course, I do have to hope there isn't STA now despite the calculations I gathered. By the way: http://www.twitch.tv/mknightdh/b/297027159 Now you can argue the Meta Knight player as n00bish, I'll just point out that I intentionally didn't use bombs or the boomerang. Which I gladly used to 2 stock a Donkey Kong within the same match where I found out early the hard way that he could KO me early with a Side B-Neutral B combo. In fact, one of his stocks was flat out massacred, where he, a human player who had earlier given me trouble, was unable to land so much as 1% on me. Shows how matchup numbers are far from a be-all end-all because that is NOT the hallmark of a bad matchup. Matchup mechanics are FAR more useful to know than some cheesy numbers. Also, if you honestly believe I can't use Link's Up B well enough to prove it a useful if mainly strategic move, you're barking up the wrong tree. And you're going to insist with the Ye Olde Butchered English? Also totally not suspicious, no less. |

Edited again. Terrain turns out to be useable as an equalizer to tone down tanks' self-counter abuse. And those who saw a 2nd Factory on each of the back attack properties before should note that I removed it because unit count being ultimately low around the north was a flawed perception of mine brought upon by Rom-Rom overextending on the north front with limited unit count, and then me blatantly controlling the front to the point where I stopped needing many units there and instead used them to flank other fronts. The extra Factories are unnecessary and only invites infantry shenanigans. As we see, replays do help. Here's to hoping the first 10 Days or so are stable enough without turning the map into a range-fire fest. |

Anyway.... *COs to review/ban: usual 5 (any who aren't blatant can be reviewed), Sturm (mocks the anti-FTA Forests), Eagle (higher percentage of LS-affected units), Sami (property density), Rachel (20x19 map with 4 fronts and faster meter charging), Sasha (property density), Kindle (property density) *Units to review/ban: Neotank (6 Movement Power MD Tank), Stealth (tech unit that can be hit by only when exposed), Black Bomb (mocks value units) |

"And there's only a 14 minute separation between comments. Totally a coincidence. By the way, Xenesis doesn't hold grudges. Why should you? " You're so silly. Starscream pointed out to me that you thought I was him, and we both had a good laugh. Then he posted again. I don't hold grudges, I don't even dislike you. I just think you're very amusing. |
