Welcome to the Aperture Science Enrichment Center. Let's look at some of the challenges you'll face as a test participant. You may be required to perform simple tasks, such as locating an exit. These simple tests may be supplemented with insurmountable obstacles. Thanks to the Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device, the impossible...is easy. Certain objects may be vital to your success. If at first you don't succeed, you fail, and the test will be terminated. When stuck, remember our motto: "There's a hole in the sky through which things can fly." At the Enrichment Center, we believe that a highly motivated test subject can carry out rather complex tasks, while enduring the most intense pain, so in case you don't make it through the testing, goodbye. This next test is impossible. Now you're thinking with portals. |

I know what you mean, an early recon can go a long way to disrupting the capture of cities. That being said, however, capturing the neutral base is guaranteed as a recon cannot reach it in time to disrupt. Also, mech flooding early on should be made easier because you can apply two bases offensively and three bases defensively to help defend against recons. Also, I hope the lack of roads in the center area goes a fair ways to stopping recon play in that area. |

Imo, though, the use of portals in that map is a tad too complex and focuses too much on offense. This map aims to simplify the portal concept, as well as mixing in more defensive elements. Also you can't use piperunners, which I'm not really a fan of. Personal opinion, though. |

Yeah, you're quite right. The main difference is that Portal 7 creates a mixed base situation, while this map does not. The concept is similar though. |
