Experimenting many gimmicks and stuff. Hope you like it, because i put some extra thought on it than normal. I took the piperunner idea from my map Isolated paradise, while i pre-deployed some rarely used units, looking at how many airports there are, i think freeing that missile might be worth it. EDIT: im not sure if letting that APC next to the mech, i mean, dont know if to let the mech escape by itself or force the armies to break the pipes by the outside. EDIT2: reaarranged the units behind the pipes so the mech can´t escape by itself. |

I'd like to say that I really love how Flatland requires some decisions from the players. There are so many possibilities! I wonder if freeing the piperunner before breaking any seams would be possible without delaying anything else too much. |

Well yeah, depending on where you break the pipe that´s the space your piperruner will get to cover, i wonder if players will actually consider worth freeing the piperruner...maybe if i place two of them? only a play test will do! |

Wow, after play testing this for a bit, I have to say this map will have some pretty epic battles. Games will kind of be stretched out, so its probably not suitable for competitions, but It offers alot of choices that can cater to a variety of CO picks. 9/10 from me. |

So many choices to make here! I appreciate when a map doesn't allow people to fall into a lazy repetitive pattern on the capture phase. This actually makes them think in the early game. :) EDIT: Map control can drastically change depending on what pipe seams you open and when. Also anybody who can break them faster (like Grimm or Kindle) benefits significantly. The weak base really suffers if you don't open a pipe to capture the fourth base, but then the piperunner is trapped and you lose a great deterrent against most units. It's interesting... even if you feel like you're losing a front on this map, if both of you break open the pipes and access your fourth bases later on during what would be the mid-late game on other maps, you can pivot to the middle and the battle starts anew inside the pipes. I really really like this dynamic. It encourages players to improvise new strategies based on both players' choices, and it's not over even if you've fallen behind if you manage to gain the advantage by opening the other front up first. |

The piperunner doesn't cover the HQ before OR after the lander has been destroyed. Is this intentional? Because I just had a match where I sneak went in for the HQ cap with a transport copter and my opponent got tunnel vision for the battles and didn't realise it Perhaps put a black boat on the HQ to defend at least? Edit: here's the replay if anyone's reading this within the next few weeks https://awbw.amarriner.com/2030.php?games_id=395208&ndx=0 I won the capture phase and had a value lead and yet it was focusing on the interesting parts of the battle that lost him the game. And I fully understand that, I have ADHD and have focused on one front of the battle and missed the obvious many times |
