Honestly, it looks ridiculous at first glance but not too bad if you give it some thought. I can see that this map was designed for high income spaztic madness but I think a truely good, balanced map lies within if income is set to 500 or if the number of cities is cut in half. First, there are way too many factories in each corner. The three starting factories are more than enough. The bridges connecting the corners are major choke points. They need to be at least 2 if not 3 squares thick. I might even suggest changing it from bridges to plains and sprinkle a variety of terrain options to make things more interesting. Changing all the bases, airports, and seaports to in the center island to cities will force players to choose wisely on units to send to the center. Also move the four com towers to the current location of the airports on the center island to spread them out a bit. Another big issue is the seaports. The general design prevents any naval combat outside of battleships and carriers. A well placed battleship can defend over half of the central island. I would suggest getting rid of seaports altogether in this map. That leaves two solutions for the four mini islands between each corner island and the central island. Leave them in their current location and have them only accessable by aircraft, or what I think the better option would be, connect them to the "T-Junction" bridge intersections. This will give each team more to fight over in addition to just the central island. Its pretty rough now but I do see some potential in this map. As for now I give it a 4/10. Just some constructive critisism from a security guard sitting at his desk at 4:51 AM who has lost control of his life. |
