Thought it would be interesting to make a map with most of the cities in out of the way
areas, but still have a reason to fight in the central area.

center com towers are too close together which is bad on this map.

I'll copy the comment I posted in the Design Maps forum:

Although the central towers aren't particularly contested, it usually isn't a good idea to place
them so near to each other anyways. It makes it potentially too easy for one side to grab
both towers, and a 2:0 tower advantage is as good as an auto-win if you don't have to heavily
sacrifice something else for it (unit count, positioning, fund advantage). If it were me, I'd move
the towers back a bit -- far enough that you'll only capture both once you have a solid
advantage, but not so far that it's not reasonable to make a push for the second one.

The islands are probably a little too city heavy, and it will be quite hard to sustain a front there
right now, since one country is going to be able to get to the island significantly earlier than
the other. The amount of cities will also make it hard to attack into a side once they get a
strong foothold, and if each country is able to control one island apiece, I think the map will fail
due to only having one other front. The island fronts might work, if only because you did a
good job positioning the shoals for drop-offs, but I would still cut down on the cities, and
maybe reduce the airports to just 1 also.
MorganLeah (03/16/2012 08:44pm):
Moving the towers back is simple enough, I'll do that.

As for the islands, and the difficulty of maintaining fronts, that is actually
intentional. I wanted the fighting focused in the middle. If having only one primary front
is an issue, I can redo the map larger and have multiple central fronts.

Well try it out first, because it might work, especially with the airports where they are. If you want
a playtester, I'm always game.
MorganLeah (03/17/2012 01:43am):
That's why the airports are where they are (and why there's two) :D

It's a shame you never built a lander in our test game, because the game would've been much
different if there'd been any type of vehicle fighting on the islands. Hard to tell how the map would
play if that had happened.
MorganLeah (03/23/2012 06:48pm):
To be honest, I don't really want vehicle fighting on the islands. I guess I should have
landers be a banned unit for the map.
walkerboh01 (04/29/2012 06:20am):
Not a bad map, but I'm not thrilled with the dynamic of the islands, or how it's a 1-front map
outside of that.
