kind of dislike the center though..It makes CO like Kindle overpowered since she can hops
capture to another city easily and then being in ready state for her incoming counter
attack at any time >_>.
mori3 (03/27/2012 11:52am):
She doesn't get her silly bonuses from forests or missile silos, and those heavy terrain tiles
will help with uprooting her. The forward cities are in range of the pre-captured airports, a
tank can move into the closest empty silo from the middle bases, or an infantry in 2 days, and
the towers on the side fronts need to be captured before serious fighting breaks out, so it's
really not all that smart to rush across the center line to the opponent side center cities, since
you stand a decent chance of losing a day of capturing and a vital early infantry during those
middle skirmishes.

I've used this city layout a bunch of times recently (grabbed it from Atlas) and I haven't had
any serious issues with it, but if issues come up in playtests then the center will be changed.

The center is fine. If you had low terrain there, it would be more problematic, but it isn't that
bad contesting cities if you're attacking from forests.

I really like how this map handles routes to the fronts. You have very distinct routes at first,
but along the front they all kind of blend into one another. Very nicely done, I predict it will play
pretty well.

Loving the opening game so far. I really need to use restricted lanes to fronts more often.
airob (03/27/2012 10:09pm):
oh crap, i was going to name a map that...
Well thatīs how maps should be! separate routes but blend them ahead.
walkerboh01 (04/25/2012 02:20am):
I agree rob, but surprisingly few maps can do it successfully.

I also had one more comment regarding blozzee's problem with certain COs being powered.
You shouldn't make a map with certain COs in mind; i.e. trying to balance a map with regard
to certain COs is kind of pointless (with some exceptions). Basically, the ban list should be
dependent on the map, not the other way around.

As for the map, I don't know if I really like how heavy the terrain is. You do such a nice job
with the routes and setting up the front that I think it's kind of a shame how much mobility is
reduced along it. This seems to be a concern I have on a lot of your maps -- try not to over-
forest. =)

8/10 nonetheless.
mori3 (04/29/2012 08:13pm):
Changed terrain a bit. Not much, though.
