The continent of Novindus before the ravages of the Emerald Queen's army! The Westlands vs. The Tiger Men vs. the population of the City of the Serpent River vs. Maharta before the Raj vs. The "Long Lived" (the elves). Each civilization has benefits and disadvantages, and risk vs. reward. This is an accurate portrayal of the land of Novindus (except with additional properties) compared to previous attempts for AWBW. The usual CO bans recommended, and also FOW may add the additional fun element of mystery to this battle. |

I lack knowledge on what Novindus is, or looks like, so I'll base this on AW knowledge. First off, what is OS going to do? I see no reward for playing OS. Second, I see no real risk as PC, 1 close enemy that could be supressed with mechs until all those cites are captured. Or maybe I'm crazy and the 2 things I talked about were stupid and wrong. |

I know Novindus. I loved that series, good stuff. Map isn't great, but whatever, nice homage. |

OS needs another deployment base for the sake of balance. There's a lot of slow movement in this game because of where the deployment bases are. The only two deployment bases that aren't close to an HQ are both in the southern part of the map. |

Orange star can do okay if it succeeds in taking the neutral base to the south. Fog of war really elevates this map thanks to all the forests. |

Good points, but I knew the Westlands (OS) had an advantage of space and maneuverability - greater options; so the extra base for OS is farther to the south to compensate (OS can generally get to it faster than BM), plus it seems to be more inline with the story (although I have to admit/disclose: there's not much info on the details of these areas in the novels, so I had to make my best educated and reasonable guess). |

I haven't read the books in years, but I remember liking them. It would be nice if other writers could benefit from the success of Game of Thrones. Interesting how the mountains block armour. |

valof133 (05/29/2012 10:01am):
I thought about it, the Game of Thrones map is too... LONG lol! It wouldn't work well with max map length of 40 (so 40 X 40 is out - not NEARLY enough detail with that limitation if it is to be accurate and drawn to scale - and half the map would be ocean unless it's roughly 40 X 22). Someone would have to create it with some other program others use for bigger maps, don't know where at the moment. Regarding armour, as we can see there's only two small areas for one to bring tanks, etc from the "westlands" to the "eastlands," it could be interesting or terrible for map playability - that's why we're testing the map now of course. |

There are valid chokepoint issues, sticking rockets in the forest will grind offensives to a halt without aircraft. I'm leaning towards teams to address that since the map itself is so cool :) |

Oh, valoff133. Your maps are so geeky but really fun! Just like this site... |

valof133 (06/22/2012 12:06am):
Good points about the choke points, eventually I plan to make minor "tweaks" to the map without rendering it inaccurate to the storyline map. Thanks everyone for your compliments and comments! |
