EDIT: CHANGES MADE PER COMMENTS BELOW Alright guys, this is a map I threw together pretty quick after seeing magma's "Camp Defenders" (link below) Its designed as a team battle, RF + TG vs GS + AB for ABBA turns to counter FTA. Honestly I'm not sure what to expect from this map, there are things I like and things I don't. All in all I think I'm happy with how it it turned out though. It has some relatively unique and unpredictable looking fronts in the middle (a little chokey in certain parts) that worked out better than I was expecting during editing, but maybe could use some improvement. Please let me know what you think and by all means let me know if you see any errors, including symmetry. Comments, suggestions, and constructive criticism are always welcome on my maps :D http://awbw.amarriner.com/prevmaps.php?maps_id=51856 (Magma's map) |

The map looks kind of linear I think, where the only front in the map is in the center >_>. I think if you make bridges on side rivers and some other path on the side across the mountains, It would be much more interesting. |

That middle area is pretty narrow, maybe you could open up a few more paths? |

It might work best if you made it possible to get to the upper/lower parts of the central area without having to go through those narrow center chokes. Also blozzee is right on point with the linear comment -- there's nothing interesting about the routes units will take, it's all just straight to the front. I also think the neutral bases are too close to the center. What you might want to do is turn this into a top/bottom battle (while still opening up the center a lot. |

Thanks for the comments guys! When I get the chance I'll work on opening things up and providing some other paths for units to take and move the bases back if I can. I'm not sure if I care for the idea of top vs bottom in this case but I'll see what I can do with everything else EDIT: Ok, I made a lot of adjustments and opened up the bottom/top to be separate fronts now. Of course there are probably still issues so feel free to point them out! (nicely please :P) |

9/10 Firstly, I think it's beautiful. I think the map beig narrow and long helps aesthetiocally (sp?). I like the nice mix of terrain. I agree that this is just on big front in the middle. I think it needs something to shake things up. Maybe a long narrow lake would be cool. Like maye just 4 squares high and 15-20 squares long. Or what I would consider is moving red and grey cloer to the front line or teal and amber closer to the front line so not exactly a straight up/down front line. Somebody mentioned above making it north vs south instead. I think thats sometyhing to consider but probably defeats your original purpose. I'm not a big fan of all the factories. Also, I think if you get rid of the 4 factories closest to the middle itll solve the problem of a up/down "uninteresting" front line. I should add that I'm bias when it comes to sea. I think every map should have sea, for the most part. 10/10 if you add sea and take away some factories. |

Yeah, I made it fairly base heavy since every player gets 2 starting and 2 forward bases (in addition to an airport) I made some changes since the comments on having one main front, so believe me it was worse lol. The map kind of has 3 parallel side to side fronts and its a little chokey in between them so I think moving up and down will be more difficult. I really want to see how it plays out because at this point I want to find out exactly what needs to be done before I mess with it too much more than I already have. EDIT: Mountains and forests added in the middle to divide the fronts. I think it's much better now. |
