Creepy Crawly (06/22/2012 11:02pm | Edited: 06/22/2012 11:06pm):
This map has a cool concept, but it's a bit unfair that 2 countries start with ports and the rest with airports. Sea units are tough, but let's face it, the mobility of air units is a major game changer (especially on a map with this many chokes, and having no roads connecting either). Granted, by the point they have money to build anything out of it, each country will have at least one of each. Another thing, more roads dood, maps this big take forever to play on, but when it's this chokey and also lacks road to make up for the chokes with low defense, it makes games last even longer. Edit: GE will be forced to launch their missile super early because if they don't OS will take it. The bottom two armies will be forced to fight for one missile also, which is a bit unfair considering BH has two. Also, that port that BM has will win him OS and YC easily and make him impossible to take down by anyone else. BM will win over 50% of games guaranteed, he has his own private lake with a port, and an uncontested missile for when things get dicey. Another edit: Just noticed you joined your own game as BM.. Tsk tsk, naughty. |

Oh lord, I definitely chose BM because I didn't think it had a clear advantage... oops. I promise I'm not a terrible person! We'll play this one through and I'll make edits from there. Thank you VERY much for the constructive criticism! |

"I promise I'm not a terrible person!" Hm... sounds to me like something only a terrible person would say! =p If you're looking to make your maps fair, I would suggest making them symmetrical. Otherwise it's almost impossible to keep one side from having an advantage. Also, you need to majorly cut down on the amount of forests you use. Over-foresting your maps will slow games way down, and as noted above, the map is already going to take forever to play out. |

I think my main beef with this map is that the roads aren't a bit more evenly spread out. And it could be nice if there were a few more shoals. A lot of the map feels very trudge heavy with the forests, and the chokepoints of the bridges. When starting out Symmetry is the biggest way to ensure that things are balanced. Barring that i fyou calculate exactly how many days it takes to get to each property that countries are "assigned" (it's expected that they get to them) and each country gets to the same amount and kinds of property at the same day. that helps. |

I think the map is fine, but it could use more countries to make things more chaotic, and also less woods as the chokepoints are pretty major , also YC cant attack OS directly, so you might get rid of atleast one mountain |
