unfair |

Yeah, I published without thinking. Should be a little better now, I'm going to give it a test run and see how it pans out. It's hard to balance without symmetry > |

I think it looks fairer now, OS has better chances of getting more properties. Grit would absolutely cream anybody on this map. It doesn't matter who's side your own, Grit would win. FoW would be interesting... |

Unfair. OS starts with BM pinned in, goes first, has greater expansion, and starts with more bases/funds. All OS has to do is place a cheap artillery in range of the outer two bases, and now BM pretty much can only build in the center and will lose. |

Yes, clearly grit must be banned on this map. Thanks for the comments guys, I'm going to play a game as it is now, and then tinker with it some more. I'll keep your suggestions in mind, Nahbien. I want to make something different. All these 2p symmetry maps are boring :p |

Edited it again. Removed neutral properties in the middle ring and made the north-south openings 2 squares instead of one. Moved the N/S properties back a square, so that OS can have at least one out there that's out of rocket range. In fact, I think I'm going to put the middle ring properties back, giving OS a little help on the N/S chokes may be all that was needed. |

I'm still tuning this thing... I wonder what my rating would be if I could start it over, it's come a long way :) |

In FOW BM is way too strong, i'm playing a game atm and the forests in the corner areas are perfect for artilleries aiming at the OS bases, which OS can only counter with Sonja's See-into-forests power, and even then only rarely. BM can just spam infantry to block the two main exits, then concentrate on one of the corner bases by filling their nicely forested corner with artillery and rockets (as i'm doing right now). Then, once the base has been captured by the infantry wave, the game is pretty much lost for OS as BM has the safe middle and has the funds advantage to get some heavy stuff from the outside base. OS needs to break into the middle pretty quickly to avoid being thrashed, but i can't see how that could ever happen against a reasonable BM player. But that's just FOW. I guess the opposite is true for non-FOW, as OS has the advantage! Still, nice idea for a map though :) |
