Hack, this map is a lot better than most league map listed today. I really love where
you can disrupt com tower capture with copter in this map forcing opponent to build anti
air missile. This is really a great work of game mechanic design. I would certainly vote
this map for under a review. Hopefully it gets into league someday.

I'm really curious to know if Javier remains in Top Tier on this map.

The defensive positions on this map are fantastically complex. Really great job with terrain and city positioning.

advice to those playing on this map, don't pick javier, he is t4 here (even if mc puts him at t3 for low level play), the comm tower is not merely delayed, but impossible to get an advantage out of. Therefore it is the same as if this map has no comm towers, and the rationale "javier is T4 with no comm towers" applies here.

If you are javier, there are two comm towers you can go for, the one on the opponent's base side and the one on your base side.
The one on the opponent's base side can be easily locked down with an artillery, which is a cheap investment similarly to your own t-copter and infantry, but also leaves them with a vehicle immediately ready to use if you decide to change your mind with the t-copter and infantry.
The one on your base side can be interrupted by the opponent's battle copters easily, and since it takes 4 turns for a transport you build to reach the comm tower, the opponent is always guaranteed to capture their airport before you can reach the comm tower. You cannot guard the comm tower area with an anti-air. You have only 3 options to counter the battle copter:
1. Spamming your own battle copters from your own airport. if your opponent makes 1 battle copter, you need 2 battle copters to remain ahead on the trade, except it takes 4 turns for your battle copter to reach there, so you'd actually need to spam a lot more battle copters since the opponent can continue to spam battle copters to counter yours to remain even on the trade while interrupting your cap. Needless to say, this is not a good idea and you will get overrun if you do this.
2. Controlling the opponent's airport area. If you have done this you have already won not because of Javier. With an even skill opponent, Javier should be even with or behind other COs with no tower.
3. Buying a missile. Don't really need to say much about this, with evenly matched players a tank or two difference is already enough to decide the game, to say nothing about a 12k investment that may not ever pay itself back. If your opponent didn't already have the resources to overrun you now (from your T-copter investment + potential cop/scop that can happen before you even reach the tower), they definitely will now that you've built a missile

I am posting this comment so everyone knows exactly how to interrupt javier's comm tower caps

Comm tower islands need a rework. The counterplay is very annoying and unfun.
MontySigurdson (07/22/2022 05:40am):
Honestly, the Comm Towers might as well not exist on this map, I've never seen anyone go for them.
It's just not feasible unless you're far ahead, but in that case you probably don't need the tower to win anyway.

Otherwise it's a decent enough map, maybe a bit stally. 6/10.
MC Hammer (07/27/2022 10:30pm):
This map has been moved from S rank down to A rank
Fortune Plango Vulnera (11/09/2023 02:50pm):
Just played a game on it. It's a good map, and very enjoyable... if you control the center. Then you can frontswitch with ease
and deny any counterplay from your opponent. If you're on the back foot though, the heavy terrain next to the middle base
makes it a nightmare to defend. If you make a tank in the south, it's staying there forever.
Having said that, it's also pretty difficult to push your advantage and make it decisive, allowing for some stally and
stalematish tactics, both sides being defended by two near bases. I wouldn't mind if the center had more contested
properties.
The com towers are totally useless.
