This is the eighth in a series of maps for an illustrative guide to FTA for new Players.

Explanation of FTA Part 8:

You would probably guess that things get more complicated when you start adding in more
players. In reality, things are pretty simple if you make the map into a team game and
each team has an even number of players. Why is this? Well, if set up the teams properly,
FTA will more or less disappear. Take a look at this setup- Orange and Yellow vs Blue and
Green. The turn order would be:

Orange: Team A
Blue: Team B
Green: Team B
Yellow: Team A

With a turn order of ABBA like that, Orange has an advantage over both enemies, but in
return both enemies get an advantage over Yellow. This resolves FTA without a
"traditional" FTA counter. This mentality can be expanded to maps with many two-player teams
by making the turn order ABCD...DCBA or maps with 2 larger teams with an even number of
teammates such as ABBA ABBA or AABB BBAA for 4v4 games. The same general effect is
achieved because you can cancel the advantage of every team member that gets to move first
by also giving that team a player that moves last.

With odd numbered teams, however, there will always be an unpaired team member, for
example: ABBA AB for 3v3. Usually it's good to give the last player on Team B an FTA
counter in this case to compensate. For more than two teams with an odd number of members
you can combine this careful team selection technique with what I have in store for the
next part: Multiplayer! FFA

being green or yellow looks pretty rough with one of their bases almost surrounded by mountains like that. I
get that it's fair gameplay wise since there's one on both team, but won't blue and red always be the stronger
partner since it takes yellow and green an extra turn to deploy from one of their bases?
