This map is made with the premise of making a map that looks mostly artifical, like an offshore platform, hence the name. It is also the first map I've made so far for AWBW. I think it turned out fairly well, but I can of course not be the judge of that myself. Besides the obvious bans, Koal is going to be fairly strong in this map. This may actually be an incentive NOT to ban him (since he's very underwhelming otherwise). Lash probably won't make too much use of the flat terrain (and Jake is busy crying in the corner). This map should also support piperunners fairly well; There's one position that's going to be tough to attack with land units, but it is completely open to assault from air units. As this is my first map, please, by all means provide feedback on things I could improve, it is highly valued. |

It's a cool new idea, but I'm not so sure how it'll play out. The large amount of roads has its pros and cons (I'm guessing the neutral bases will be recon rushed) but it also has a cool feel to it, being able to move otherwise sluggish units like Rockets or Missiles. I'm foreseeing choky areas at the NW and SE bridges. Perhaps a third layer of bridges could help? Then again, maybe the fronts won't be pushed back that far, but you never know. Using up that empty outside ocean would be a definite plus in my book, since there'll be no naval conflict there, but it's up to you. |
