With limericks you've run out of luck Cuz when it comes to writing I suck Scientific, my mind, I have trouble with rhymes Hmm, better stay clean and use "duck" |
Nyvelion (07/21/2016 01:53pm):
I understand, I don't like gross things either, so I too would avoid the word "yuck". |
Xmo5 (08/08/2016 11:15am):
Oh no! Now I've seen it and I have to wash my eyes out with soap.... |
Nyvelion (08/08/2016 12:16pm):
Oops sorry. I didn't even seriously think that was the word, I thought it was... something else. Like "buck". Ew, buck. |
Xmo5 (08/08/2016 01:09pm):
A buck isn't much in and of itself, but if you have a lot of em, you could get a stampede going. |
Nyvelion (08/08/2016 01:22pm):
Yeah that's the problem, people with too many bucks. Like Trump. Just because he was born with a lot of them, he may soon be in position to start WW3 with his stampede of angry armed southern white racists, also known as the Republicans. |
Xmo5 (08/08/2016 01:44pm):
I wonder what Trump will do if he loses the election. Will he come back again in 4 years? Will he run for another office, or is anything but POTUS beneath him? Will he throw a temper tantrum and leave the country in a hissy fit? Will he privately fund nuclear arms development so he can nuke whatever minority he feels like taking out first? Will he fade into obscurity as the most ridiculous presidential candidate in US history? |
Nyvelion (08/08/2016 01:53pm):
With Trump's ego, he probably thinks POTUS is beneath him. He won't stop until he destroys the world and declares him ruler of the ashes. |
Xmo5 (08/08/2016 02:08pm):
Are you trying to bring this back around to Pokemon? How many Ashes can there possibly be? |
Nyvelion (08/09/2016 10:13am):
No. ...6? |
Xmo5 (08/09/2016 12:56pm):
Sounds good enough to me. 6 it is. |
Nyvelion (08/10/2016 09:58am):
Can't have more than 6 pokemon, so can't have more than 6 Ashes. Anything beyond 6 is just a ditto faking it. |
Xmo5 (08/10/2016 01:49pm):
That makes a lot of sense now that you mention it. Think of how horribly inhumane it would be to capture and carry humans around in little cramped, presumably virtual, living quarters, letting them out only in times of need and for fighting other humans... Oh wait... |
Nyvelion (08/15/2016 09:24am):
I thought keeping Pokemon trapped like that was cruel at first, but apparently I got over it just like everyone else did. |
Xmo5 (08/18/2016 11:03am):
I heard a pretty interesting theory that Pokemon are actually made out of pure energy, and the inside of the Pokeball has mirrors that just reflect the energy around until it's released and takes the form of Pokemon. |
Nyvelion (09/20/2016 04:46pm):
That wouldn't really work by itself. Every collision would make some of the energy into heat. What is really needed, besides stopping time itself inside the ball, is to master cryogenic freezing. If Walt Disney can do it, we can do it for pokemon. |
Xmo5 (09/21/2016 03:08pm):
Yup, agreed. Then again, we have a magic Charmander tail which won't die by itself, but can be snuffed. Does that make it elvish? Also, Disney took Star Wars, they can't have Pokemon too! Actually, that might suck for the Pokemon, now that I think about it. I hate that tingly feeling in my feet as they warm up from being in the snow... I can't imagine how uncomfortable they might feel thawing out for real right before a battle. |
Nyvelion (10/03/2016 09:08am):
I like what Disney did with Star Wars. Which was annoy all the racist and sexist people by not having the main cast be exclusively white men. It was only topped by all the misogynists that got revealed when Ghostbusters was announced. |
Xmo5 (10/04/2016 10:30am):
I'm totally okay with the result that came out of Disney owning Star Wars (at least so far). The movie, the merchandising, the re-release of Battlefront*, etc. but that doesn't mean it feels right to say "Star Wars, that well-known Disney franchise". *The game is really cool, but it does bother me that there is literally 0% inclusion of the prequels in this game. I mean, I get that it's cool to hate the prequels now, so regardless of the arguments, Disney has to avoid them at all costs to carry any sort of respect by the general public, at least until they've proven themselves out with the completion of this 3rd trilogy (and anthology movies), but the prequels aren't all bad. *ducks to avoid various projectiles* Seriously though, I get all the arguments. The dialogue sucked, the delivery sucked, the humor (and a certain character) was juvenile, something about midichlorians, and the plot was boring at times. BUT, that doesn't mean they were bad. The plot was much more realistic in my mind, so for as much crap as people give the movies for being based on tax and trade disputes and the blah blah blah funding blah blah negotiations blah blah stuff, it feels more like how things would happen. My thing is that Anakin's fall to the dark side and Palpatine's rise to power were beautifully crafted from a story-telling perspective, even if the execution wasn't always on point. Sure, the clone army was kind of stilted and the Jedi were self-righteous pricks for doing 90% of what they did in those movies, but *that's the point!* The original trilogy spends the whole time focusing on how great the Jedi are (were) and how they should triumph over the dark side to bring peace and happiness to the galaxy. The prequels intentionally smash that to pieces! They show you that even people who are super focused on doing the right thing end up doing the wrong things, even if for the right reasons. The ends justify the means for them because they're too caught up in their own self-righteousness and dogmatic views and that's why Palpatine can rise to power right under their noses. See, the brilliance of Palpatine's plan is not that he takes power from the Jedi, but that he lets the Jedi paint themselves as the bad guys, all the while supporting his rise to power! He's the addict's enabler, seeming to help them, so they support him, but really all he's doing is gradually sending them down a self-destructive path for everyone to see, leaving him in power with the favor and sympathy of the people. He's a freaking maniacal genius! Now, reflecting on the OT again, you can see how Obi-Wan and Yoda, the only two remaining Jedi (that you see) are intent on only one thing: Raising their only known force sensitive prospect to exact their revenge and kill Darth Vader and the Emperor (or said prospect's sister, who's conveniently already leading the Rebellion to the same ends... remember what I said about Jedi with the ends and the means thing?). It takes Luke, a new generation of Jedi, to truly understand and recognize that killing Darth Vader or the Emperor would not solve the problem, but only perpetuate the cycle of hatred that got the Jedi exterminated in the first place. *It's not the Jedi way.* Anakin knows this when he defeats Count Dooku (who is surprisingly one of the most insightful characters) and Palpatine orders Anakin to kill him. Luke spares Vader out of love and Vader kills the Emperor for the same reason, suddenly seeing that there is hope and that the Jedi way isn't what the dogma-spewing, arrogant organization told him many years ago. Nobody kills the Emperor because of some galactic power struggle or insane multi-millennia religious feud. The cycle is broken and balance is brought to the Force in the only way that it could have been done: Genuinely. This is my only beef with there being another trilogy after RotJ; it diminishes the meaning of Luke's victory and what it means for the Jedi/Sith/Force. Anyway, the moral here is that people are super down on the prequels, but they actually add a lot of depth and beauty to the story. You'd think Disney could at least throw them a bone and include some components of that in Battlefront, at least as an option or DLC? Yeah yeah yeah... blah blah money blah blah blah public image blah blah blah trade agreement blah blah... Also, can people please stop giving Hayden Christensen and Jake Loyd crap about playing Anakin and Young Anakin? They're really not bad actors! *ducks again* Have you seen Natalie Portman or Samuel L. Jackon's deliveries in these movies? They're perfectly good actors normally and they screwed it up, so you can't just blame the Anakin actors here; it's the direction and dialogue that really brought them down. Also, you can't hate on Jake Loyd because George wanted Anakin to be a young kid in TPM... again, not the actor's fault! That freakin kid is so screwed up now because of all the hate he got from fans just for being the face of *the* annoying kid that "ruined Star Wars" (him and Jar Jar). Did nobody even consider that it wasn't his fault and that that kind of pressure and feedback can really screw up a young kid? Oy.... ... That moment when your asterisk footnote is orders of magnitude longer than your original message... but hey, I had a lot to say, alright? |

Nice images. I don't normally care much for whatever those are called, but those were good. I just hope it's still okay to laugh about Trump, I'm still worried he might win and then make having dark skin illegal while making rape legal since he clearly doesn't understand what it is. |
Nyvelion (10/17/2016 10:44am):
Still can't believe that he was the one, of all people, saying that Mexicans are rapists. |

Nyvelion (10/17/2016 10:45am | Edited: 10/17/2016 10:45am):
Maybe after the election this map can be "Trump loses", even though his spoiled richness is the last thing I think when I think of who would need to count their pennies. |
Xmo5 (10/17/2016 02:39pm):
Or maybe he's like Scrooge McDuck, who spends a lot of time enjoying counting his money, down to the penny. Then again, that's assuming he's actually as filthy rich as he acts like he is (but I bet he's still richer than me). |
Nyvelion (10/17/2016 04:10pm):
I'd rather vote for Scrooge McDuck than Trump. At least McDuck didn't go bankrupt half the time or inherit all his money or brag about what gross things he would to do Webby if he could. Even if he is still rich, greedy, and unrelatable, so I suppose he would have been like Romney. |
Xmo5 (10/18/2016 01:13pm):
Plus, he's a duck. How cool would it be to have a duck rich and intelligent enough to run for and win the presidency? He'd be a total hit on the international relations front for being such a novelty. It's like a mascot and a leader all in one. |
Nyvelion (10/18/2016 04:26pm):
For that we need the Aflac duck. |
Xmo5 (03/01/2018 03:23pm):
For those of you who have been following along, Battlefront II does include the prequels, so I feel a bit better. That said, I don't enjoy the game as much, primarily because the interface is a bit harder. I mean, all the controls are the same, but it just seems slightly off and aiming is more difficult. It seems like a greater hurdle to overcome to git gud, which in some ways is nice, but in others is discouraging to anyone who's out of practice or not as dedicated. |
Nyvelion (05/25/2018 09:19am):
I'm still confused by Battlefront 2. I thought that made that awhile ago, my brother had it on one of those older Playstations. |
Xmo5 (05/25/2018 02:12pm):
They did make it a while ago. They made the original Battlefront and then a sequel, Battlefront II, back in the days of the PS2. Then they rebooted the franchise and made Battlefront and Battlefront II, basically just taking the same names to be as confusing as possible. |
