Blue Moon is GDI vs. everyone else ( Nod )
Nyvelion (08/05/2014 04:50pm):
Ew, CnC games on consoles.
Xmo5 (03/11/2015 01:09pm):
That's actually the first thing I thought. Well, actually I saw "GDI" first and went "Yay,
CnC!" Then I saw "N64" and went "Huh? ... Oh right, I forgot they did that... Why did they
ever do that again?" Either way, CnC games are awesome- I even named a couple maps after
songs from the original soundtrack: In the Line of Fire, March to Doom, and Act on
Instinct. The latter two were deleted because they were old and outdated, but the first on
the list is still there. Also, my map Invasion Confirmed was inspired by the way many of
the missions start with a small landing party.

Now, on to this map: First and foremost, I think the central area could be a bit more
accurate to the mission. The center was heavily defended in the game and the goal was to
capture the research center there to win, so I think making there be an easily-defended
lab near the dead center of the map would be good. I would also move the PC Nod base
further SE to look more like the map geometry and move BM's GDI base W for the same
reason. The predeployed BM tanks should probably all be together in the top left with the
HQ because that's how the mission starts (I'd also take out 2-4 tanks and add 1-2
artillery for accuracy). It's hard to replicate the MCV and buildup aspects, but at least
the tanks shouldn't be so spread out. Finally, I would work on the terrain a bit. In CnC,
it's hard to capitalize on the pinch points compared to in AW so they should probably be
widened quite a bit. I'd also make the mountains more natural looking and less linear. Oh,
and I personally fancy the idea of mountain locking a couple Nod missiles, one in each
location that was defended by SAM sites, and maybe even a locked artillery to represent
the obelisks near the central lab.

I think this map has the potential to work well with some of these changes, but maybe I'm
just biased towards CnC :P

I agree with you, just haven't played the game in long time.
Xmo5 (03/17/2015 06:48am):
To be honest, the only knowledge I have of this mission is from a youtube video I watched when
I saw this map. I never owned an N64; all of my CnC experience is on the PC :P
Fascelli (03/18/2015 11:09am | Edited: 03/18/2015 11:09am):
March to Doom was my favorite song on that song track but I love all those songs!
Nyvelion (09/21/2016 11:06am):
I loved N64. It was very underrated compared to the overrated PS.
Still shouldn't have had RTS games on it though. You need a mouse and keyboard for an RTS.
Xmo5 (09/21/2016 03:17pm):
^^ This. This. This. This. This.

It seriously pains me to see RTS on consoles. Without the mouse and keyboard, I feel so
lost and clunky.
