I'd shift the neutral bases back one or two tiles. As it is a turn 2 recon arrives in time to disrupt the capture of the neutral base. Not an FTA problem thanks to the counter, but you should consider it all the same. Then again, if it's a subtle trick to make recons more viable on the map, I'm all for it :D |

Good catch, thanks for pointing out that issue. It's generally frowned upon to make the capture of the neutral bases contestable, because it forces a very specific sequence of moves in the opening and takes away a lot of player options in the capture phase. The effect of any FTA is also severely amplified, and the cost of taking even one extra turn to capture your neutral base will generally be game-ending between evenly matched opponents. |
