Thank goodness that you have introduced me to sea units. Truly have I never known about them, but now I do. |

dudeman33 (12/20/2014 10:00pm):
Your welcome remember cruiser do well against submarines and submarines do well against battleships |
|
MorganLeah2 (12/21/2014 12:03am):
my welcome indeed. what does the battleship do well against |
|
MorganLeah2 (12/21/2014 12:05am):
what are those other ships that arent one of those |
|
Nyvelion (12/21/2014 01:40am):
Are landers good against cruisers? I like to spam landers. |
|
dudeman33 (12/21/2014 08:22am):
Battleships are good against cruisers and blackboats |
|
Xmo5 (12/21/2014 11:12am | Edited: 06/14/2018 01:02pm):
No, I think you're both confused. As dudeman pointed out, Battleships are the units that are good against cruisers (and blackboats, which, if you must know, are good against landers). Landers, as their name implies, are good against land. That last unit is a carrier, IIRC, and it's good at carrying so its primary function is to transport other naval units across the deeper water of open seas. Oh, and I forgot about the hybrid units. You see the two different units with little propellers? Those are different types of hovercrafts that serve unique purposes. The one in the south is a "decoy hovercraft" and serves no purpose but to distract the enemy. To the enemies it looks likea giant pot of gold so naturally their units will flock to it regardless of their orders, leaving an opening for you to attack. The other hovercraft is a "battle hovercraft" and it can attack anything close to the ground like dwarves and dandelions. Both have the advantage of being able to traverse land and sea alike, but sometimes the low hanging branches in forests can cause a problem so I'd steer clear of those unless you want a few points of random damage here and there. |

the-deadly-shadow (12/21/2014 12:29pm):
WTF. We have naval units in this game! The only dificult thing is that there are 6 types, and they are all different. I would reduce that if I could. I would suggest as only unit an sub that can transport. Still the existence is awesome. Cool that you refreshed it. |

Less thought was put into this map than was put into the comments making fun of this map. I feel like there should be a word for that. |
|
Nyvelion (12/22/2014 09:44am):
Nooo! Xmo5 won the comments again! Let's all go home, we don't have a chance to top such an epic comment on such a bad map. |

NDA|D007 (12/22/2014 11:45am):
I cannot believe that no-one here was aware of the existence of naval combat or how it actually works. My favourite tactic is to swim my infantry to the enemy HQ. (Use the Dive command to avoid detection, but be careful as this uses up double rations per turn. The reason has not been explained but I theorise that the soldiers are breaking open their ration tins and bending them into shape to form makeshift snorkels. Note that this does not affect Mech units as they can simply breathe through the bazooka tubes.) On another note, I know that people are still inexperienced when it comes to naval units but we all know what ground units do. Does anyone know which boats are good against APCs, otherwise YC might be in for an easy win? |
|
Xmo5 (12/22/2014 11:59am):
lol I'm not winning comments! I also agree with walkerboh on this one. For some reason a German-sounding word seems to fit best, probably because of how a lot of words can get thrown together into one long word I think. Regardless, someone could definitely make a mint off of whatever term they want to coin here because I can think of about a hundred other maps it would describe. |

After giving it a long thought, I would not award Xmo5 the comment award, but would give an award to ... ... ... here it comes ... ... Dudemann33. Lets get serous: This is his best map. There has not been so many fun at this map as at all his others. I guess that is even true. And it is quite unique. |

Nyvelion (08/07/2016 07:50pm):
I still don't understand how this map is "introducing sea units" The sea units have been around for awhile, they aren't just being introduced. |
|
Xmo5 (08/08/2016 10:26am):
I think he was introducing them to himself... he probably needed that lesson. |
|
Nyvelion (08/08/2016 11:51am):
I don't think dudeman33 learned his lesson. |
|
Xmo5 (08/08/2016 12:20pm):
I don't think dudeman33 learned any lesson. |
|
Nyvelion (08/08/2016 01:03pm):
I don't think dudeman33 can learn lessons. |
|
Xmo5 (08/08/2016 01:17pm):
I don't think dudeman33 can think. |
|
Nyvelion (08/08/2016 01:50pm):
I don't think dudeman33 will be happy when he sees this, but if he does show up, I have a plan. I'll tell him we were talking about the other dudeman33. |
|
Xmo5 (08/08/2016 01:54pm):
Yeah, that's an honest enough mistake. |

You should be ashamed of yourselves. Dudeman33 visited the site on 10/07/2016, so he could have read it. |

Xmo5 (06/18/2017 12:36pm):
I'm not ashamed. This map is one of my favorites, so I have full comment permissions :P |

Ok, get this. So I'm playing on this map called Rivendell, right? It was some 700's n00b, I thought they'd be a piece of cake with my mountain of troops. And mountain of troops was right, as I absolutely destroyed his upperfront. But oh no, he's playing Sami, and I see that dreaded APC. But I was in luck - I was closer, I could capture his HQ first. That is, until they built a battleship. Battle-what??!?!? I'm like, what the hell, wtf is this unit! I tried sending my swarms of tanks at it, and it took no damage!!! Then it shot my infantry, it shot my rockets, it shot my bomber, and I'm panicing hard. Except I couldn't panic, because I already lost. That was a bullshit unit. It was a SHIP, and it was on land!! It was then when I realized; I needed to learn everything about it to get my revenge. So I searched up "sea units introduction", and the 54th result was this map. I learn by experience the most, so an introductory *game* was perfect for me to gnaw my teeth on. I actually lost in the introduction once, or maybe a couple dozen times... But now I know! What I need to do is build a submarine, and I'll decimate any battleship that comes my way. It was only thanks to the brillance of the dude-man of the 33rd variety that I can succeed (for real) in the dual screen wars. |

Wait is this map actually loosely based on a DoR map? |
|
Senneihcram (02/04/2022 02:50pm):
looks like it but it doesn't look like any of their map dreadnought, amazing comments up there though lmfao |
