Updated version of my Hide and Seek style map "Stealth Run". I thought I'd throw in some of the suggested twists from the commentary I received. Rules are as follows: 1. Funds set to 0 so nobody receives income. 2. Starting funds set to something like 12k. 3. Ban all units except mechs. 4. Players must choose the same CO. I like Sonja personally. As before FoW is optional and might add a fun twist. Grimm would make this a quick game and Sturm would make it a long game. The updated version uses black boats instead of APCs/ghost airports. This means more practical healing, but limited funding makes it a tradeoff between building mechs (for HQ/tower capture) and healing your all-important Stealths. Black boats also serve as transports, so watch out! FoW really makes this hard because you can't see if you're HQ is being approached or how/when the enemy spent their money. Having 2 Stealths also presents the opportunity of double-teaming units to take them out. Previously, attacking an APC left you directly open for counterattack whereas now all your opponent will know is that they lost that unit. They may or may not have enough units in the area to both reveal and attack so you have the (less risky than before) potential to pick off the enemy's supply source and watch them starve instead. Also, no FTA counter because I'm really not sure how that would even work with the concept. |

Alright, I played a game on it: http://awbw.amarriner.com/game.php?games_id=220614 (you can see that for the next couple weeks, anyway) (also it was played in fog) You can take a look at that for an example of how this can go down. I suspect that this is how most games would play out really, since the black boats can quickly scope out large swaths of the map and there's few places for stealths to go to be out of their range. Game ended too quickly to really see how the mechs would've played out, or healing, but I enjoyed it while it lasted. |

Wow, that was a much shorter game than I was expecting. I guess you have a point though, the black boats can pretty much scope out most of the map with ease, especially having 3 of them. Maybe I should make them all start out together in like the top right and bottom left corners so they can't spread out and search as quickly. |
