Top VS Bottom jade cities with teal infantry are ghost cities. Sensei and Hachi can't build on them. This way if you are playing with broken COs, hachi and sensei don't have such a huge advantage. |

Awful map overall Forced sea combat stale ground combat 1 put of 10 |
BamboozleIV (02/10/2015 11:27pm):
... what Do you even have an understanding of what those terms mean, because combat here is far from forced. |
Madd Maxx (02/11/2015 12:36am):
my luck, my map is online for only a few hours and I get a 73 game dipsh!t rating my map. Thanks BamboozleIV. I'm not sure if the FTA counter is right. Hard to say. |

Don't worry Madd Maxx, when someone uneducated calls your map bad, it's actually an endorsement. It's like a double negative. I have to say that the ghost cities are not worth it, they visually destroy the map. Just ban Sensei and Hachi if it's that important, in my opinion. It might be a nice idea to add a route linking the center to the side fronts, linked fronts are always a nice tactical addition. I'd be a little worried about stalemates due to the chokiness if the funding isn't high enough for battleships and/or sustained air combat. |

Thanks walker |

It might be intereting how the naval battle will develop. |

lol dudeman33 cant talk shit. He's liek another amigo. I think those are ghost units? I'm not too good at seeing shit. I like this map shape though. I would let the experts talk though. fta is a definite challange. EDIT: nvm, didn't read your first comment. I honestly didn't think of that. Sensi not op for once? :o |
Madd Maxx (02/11/2015 10:41pm):
Yeah the whole point of the ghost cities is so Grit and Kenbei are good picks, but at the same time doesnt make sensei and hachi too overpowering. And Colin has lots of bases to capture. My hope is that all the broken COs are attractive picks |
Xmo5 (02/12/2015 04:11pm):
I agree with Walker on the linked fronts, though it will change which players have access to what. I think Kanbei is really hard to balance on the same map as Colin because they both want opposite things. Kanbei likes a high fund:base ratio and limited or no naval/air combat. Colin wants larger maps with a lot of bases/airports/ports where he can save up money and spam a lot of units. I think Kanbei will get choked out a bit unless he has someone spam-shielding for him and/or doesn't have a large naval combat role. The chokepoints probably help him a fair bit since it reduces the numbers advantage and they also strengthen Grit (obviously). That said, I think it might be a bit too chokey, particularly the naval fronts since you have few options for taking out subs. The land fronts can be kept cleaner despite the chokiness because of air units (and battleships) but you'll have to keep an eye on player income to make sure they can afford those kinds of units. The pipe seams help too because it will open up when things get crowded later on. |
Madd Maxx (02/13/2015 02:04am):
Where exactly is it chokey? I dont see where at front line its chokey except maybe sea next to the labs on middle island. Look closely. The front line should be from sw corner to ne corner. And any choke sea area has land next to it so subs can be visable bc land units. I think 5 seaports and 4 major sea battles so i dont see problens with not enough space for navy units. Right? |
Madd Maxx (02/13/2015 04:19pm):
Ive gotten rid of some shoal, especially on the main island in the middle. And moved mountains on the island so less chokey for land units. Hopefully this helps the choke issues. i still like only 1 player having easy access to the middle, though. |
