This is the first map I ever made that got me into custom campaigns... keep in mind this is my first map and it was played against AI so if it seems unbalanced or something, thats probably why. Tips are nice :D |

at day two OS will have already 8 infantery and a mech, while BH has only just captured the base. Also OS can rush the outer bases with their first infantery, while they can lock the bases close to the rivers, if BH even cares about sending units there. It takes too long for BH to capture the 4 corner bases. In that time they lose the battle for the 4 bases on the edges. Also 16 bases on a map with such funding is pretty base-dense. Meaning lots of infantery will be produced. This gives less tactical options than the game with a reduced amount of bases. I would suggest removing all neutral bases except for the ones in the corner and maybe giving BH a (possibly neutral) base near their HQ. This gives a 5 vs 4 bases game, with BH starting behind, as their bases are not preowned. |

I'll back what he just said. Also, consider the fact that OS can send recons fairly easily during the capture phase due to 5k funding an all the roads. Keep in mind that OS is also much easier to defend than BH's because OS's forces are concentrated in one area (the further they get pushed back, the more dense their army) while the opposite is true for BH (as you push towards the HQ, there are fewer bases that can help defend it). The chokepoints surrounding OS's bases/HQ exacerbate this and could lead to stalemates/standoffs. |
