This map clearly favours OS, as their is no FTA counter. I guess everybody agrees. If you do not agree, I suppose
you do not know a lot about AWBW. I suppose everybody agrees on that as well.
IPS (05/02/2015 06:09pm | Edited: 05/26/2015 11:20am):
OBJECTION!!! this map favours more BM due he's closer to these neutral properties giving
no chance to OS.

Edit: DAMN... the map got edited and it made me like a fool!!
walkerboh01 (05/02/2015 07:02pm):
Overruled.
Nyvelion (05/04/2015 07:50am):
HOLD IT!
This map needs more roads, neutral properties(though more spread out than the ones there
now), terrain variety, and talent.

I know, I was debating giving Red a battleship or Rocket or something to replicate the
Balistae, (On a port, not on sea :3) and add some more buildings to give Red more of an
edge and balance out the map a bit. (But I have played both AW 1 and 2. But yeah I'll be
tweeking the map allot in the future. sorry for it being so One-sided.

Oh and sometimes I refer to Orange Star as "Red", Blue Moon as "Blue", Green Earth as
"Green" and Yellow Comet as "Yellow". Oh and I'm not good at making design maps still, But
hey, I'll learn.
Xmo5 (05/04/2015 01:38pm):
I'll be honest and say that I'm not at all familiar with FE map you're reproducing here,
but here are some tips if you're trying to replicate something from outside AW with
accuracy and playability:

First, consider the type of thing you're translating into AWBW and think about what
limitations there are. Whether it's a real-world continent or the world map of Final
Fantasy or Super Mario etc., just pay attention to what details won't work too well here
and plan around that. Not everything can be made playable by this method, so keep an eye
out for that as well.

Second, if it's asymmetric or imbalanced in AWBW, try to balance that out as best you can,
even at the expense of some accuracy. You could use terrain to make different paths,
easier/harder areas to defend etc. Make everybody have an equal shot at capturing
properties too. Just because the game you're replicating didn't do that, doesn't mean it
will fly here so give everybody access to equal funding and bases/airports etc. If you're
really really good, you could theoretically counter balance a missing base or funding with
something else, but that gets really difficult really fast (if even possible in some
cases). To be safe, I'd stick to giving everyone equal shares of everything for now.

Lastly, be careful how you use predeployed units. It's not an issue here obviously, but
often times a lot of predeployed units find their way into maps like these and generally
detract greatly from the playability of the map. Predeployed units aren't wrong, but a lot
of careful thought has to go into considering which units and how many can be placed in
which locations while still maintaining a semblance of equality, especially considering OS
gets the first move, as the-deadly-shadow pointed out.

Hope that helps!!

Okay, I was playing the Fire emblem game that the map I was trying to re-create was from,
There was actually
much more properties I left out on the bottom, mainly due to the fact that I forgot about
them... Oh and I'mma
change the 9 properties on Blue Moon's side to four (As the towns in Fire Emblem usually
have 4 buildings
shown on the main map.) and yeah, that actually helps allot, I'll be sure to keep that in
mind next time I make a
recreation of some sort. :P But there's seven properties on the Orange star area... Oh
well, I'll figure something
out to make it more accurate to the original thing (the map is from Fire Emblem Seven or
Eight. On Chapter 8.)

http://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/fireemblem/images/3/3f/RnK8.gif/revision/latest?cb=20091129174746

That's the map from it's original game...

Oh and I'm also most likely gonna make it Pre-deployed because you can't exactly build
units in Fire emblem... :P
the-deadly-shadow (05/24/2015 03:03am):
Right now I think you mean that OS gets more units but has its indirects in a bad
position. Note that OS can retreat arty at their first turn, and counter the bad position.
Jackie Milton (05/25/2015 05:32pm | Edited: 05/25/2015 05:34pm):
Maybe I'm blind, but I don't see a BM HQ anywhere. Without which, the BM units will all
disappear once the game begins. In regards to terrain, the lack of roads will make recon
travel incredibly painful. I know this from my civil war map I never bothered to fix.

I've never played Fire Emblem, but based on your screenshot, I think I get the gist of it
and what you are trying to accomplish. As it stands, BM is at an extreme disadvantage with
a unit fund comparison of about 30k difference (tanks worth 7k, infantry 1k etc.). Balancing
this out is a tricky endeavor as Xmo5 explained earlier. To keep this map "true" to it's
intentions, I would swap some BM units for several higher-tech units. For example, you
could turn the recons into A-As or make the Md. Tank a neotank. You have several options here.
Hopefully this info. isn't useless to you.
Cheers

likeok4[BOT] (05/27/2015 06:13pm | Edited: 05/27/2015 06:14pm):
Depending on how BM plays they could win, like if they push and destroy the 2 artilitrys and capture the 4 citys
they'll have an advantage. the rocket might be a problem for them but their recons could just pick it off but then
the two recons of OS' will attack so they might have to safe it for after they capture the citys.

It's easy from their until you get to the OS' HQ where they might not stand a chance since there is two tanks
and 1 MD tank and the Mech which might heavily damage the units as well.

In other words the main problem i'd say is OS' HQ since you might not have enough units left
Maybe some roads and more BM units could help balance this out, maybe another tank or even a rocket to help
with attack at OS' hq.

Still a good map design so far but needs some roads, forests maybe even citys. And more units for BM like i
said. ALSO BM needs a HQ otherwise they can't play.
Nyvelion (05/28/2015 09:07pm):
That sounds a whole lot like "BM can win if OS is stupid with their indirect units"
Fruitigal (05/29/2015 01:43am):
As Jackie Milton said earlier, without a base/lab, then Blue will not be able to be
played, so while keeping with the theme of the Fire Emblem Map, maybe to place the Blue HQ
at the "village" to the top right, also give Blue Moon a base(since from memory of Fire
Emblem, as I assume you want to keep with the theme, that type of fort can sometimes
generate specific units), so you can switch the BM city with a BM base. And to balance it
by reducing the troop in exchange as well, and to note to people, to limit the production
of say, to tank/recon and infantry only(equivalent to the horseman or pirates that can get
spawned, due to triggers).

So that, Blue will be able to build, but have little and weak units at the start(and low
income), versus Red with many troops that are stronger, but are limited by the amount of
troops they have(unless they use Sensei or Hachi).
Nyvelion (05/29/2015 10:27am | Edited: 05/29/2015 11:20am):
Can't join as BM? Is that a challenge?
JACQUELINE WILL NOT BE STOPPED FROM JOINING AS BM.
There, I joined his game as BM.
Nyvelion (07/26/2016 08:51am):
There, now I lost as BM.
