Any tips on balance? I gave BM an airport to compensate for their lack of territory, but that might break the game completely. |

BM only has 4 property, yc has 6, ge has 5, and os has 9. Currently the only ways to get to the other islands besides the main one is with the port that GE and YC will fight over, the port that YC has, and the airport that BM comes with. OS does not come with any port they will have ready access to. But with their heightened funds, and fta. GE won't stand much of a chance sandwiched between YC and OS. At the moment, the entire game is a race to the middle island with two airports. And that's something that BM will win because they start with an airport. Yeah the airport breaks things, but not because they're in a better position, it's more because everyone else's positions are so wonky as well. At the moment, the end result of this game looks a bit like this: OS will have 9 property, ge will have 7, yc will have 9, and bm will have 11. (Unless BM changes their strategy and then has 14 with os and ge having the same and yc having 6) THe island behind GE and YC won't see much of anything until BM decides to go get the free 5 property. I have to say, 42 property across 4 countries isn't really enough for any good naval combat, and it doesn't make for very good air combat either. This is at the moment a map where the person who can set up by a chokepoint is going to win. My suggestions are: remove all of the preowned cities. spread the cities out so that everyone gets an equal chance at the same amount. don't make the map a rush to the center style, because then either the person who goes first, (os) wins, or the person who has the best advantage over terrain wins (bm). with the 4 ports, make them so that everyone can get one. at the moment BM is likely to get 1, Yc will have 1, ge will have 1, and bm and yc will fight over 1 if bm decides to grab the two airports in the middle first. You have a lot of dead space in the oceans. (spaces where there's no advantage to moving units to) you can combat that by moving around some of the islands, adding shoals, and increasing the need to use landers to invade. And that chokepoint between yc and ge won't really cause anything to happen. Unless this is a war room style map (you know, os vs all) in which case you made the map way too difficult since os will get stalled by ge, giving yc time to get to the middle island, and bm will heckle with battlecopters. |
