Shadow Star (01/04/2016 10:59pm):
This, is not a good map. the map favors OS, the ports function almost entirely as cities due to the sea layout. and the terrain is, well, not to intentionally make a terrible pun, plain. FTA is an issue here, nothing's compensated for. Airports favor OS, city placement favors OS, fta favors OS. Even the neutral com tower placement favors OS. This, is what we like to call a 1 rating map. Now, with that out of the way. Use Symmetry, it makes balancing easier. accept that FTA exists and needs to be dealt with. otherwise two equally competent players will play as (OS does a thing, BM responds, but isn't able to do anything that makes OS respond) Property should be equal distance from starting location. If you include ports, include some shoals. Roads are not evil, nor are forests. Balance your production facilities to your nonproduction facilities. Often times 5 cities is more than enough per production facility (unless you want people to actively use ports, at which point you don't want people to be saying "air units are cheaper") Have suggestions for what the lab units are (I'd like to point out that OS is closer to their lab as well) Don't give your maps a 10. it looks really bad when bad maps get high ratings, makes people suspicious. |

I agree with Shadow Star, and I think a 4 rating would suit this map. I especially don't the lack of beaches on this map. Also OS can clearly capture all their properties earlier than BM, which is unfair. |

Great feedback on this map already. If you make the suggested changes and want more feedback, send me a PM and I'll take another look. |
