the-map-making-shadow (01/20/2016 10:33am | Edited: 01/20/2016 10:44am):
I would like to submit this one for the assymetric map competion. As you can see, there are a number of yellow cities. They are quite contested and the fight for them will begin early. There are some teal cities behind your base for extra funding and there is a path along orange cities which will take a lot longer for a fight to initialize there. However precious funds can be lost along the orange way. You can't really reinforce the 'new front behind the mountains' quickly, so you should be carefull when deciding to send sufficient units there. recons arrive quickly in the upper right corner, and a single recon can make a difference, if both sides don't go very heavy on the upper-right corner. So that is about the dillema I wanted to offer you. Now I should be wondering wether it is fair. BM has a foward neutral base, which means they can send quite some units to the yellow cities early on. To prevent the battle turning in the 3 bases of BM vs. 2 GE bases in the south, I gave GE a black boat to make reinforcements from the north arrive earlier. The early agression of BM to the west is really an advantage for them. GE has 3 teal cities that can be captured right after each other. Secondly from the norther base there are 2 paths along orange cities the have only 1 turn traveling+1 turn capturing in between them, while BM has only one such path(This means that GE can send 2 'early capturing' infantry along that path with little ''travelling delay', while BM can only do this with 1 infantry. They can send more, but that can't be done without 'travelling delay'). Secondly when GE sends a tank from their northern base 6 tiles to the right, it can be still be used to reinforce both fronts (I consider this to be a tactical advantage). I also added some airport to prevent the map becoming a stalemate if both sides can't beat each other early on. GE's airport is harder to unlock, but is further displaced from the upper-right corner. I find it difficult do decide wether this one is fair, so I would like to hear what you. think about it. |

If I were BM, I would concentrate all my power on the front of YC cities. For BM, the shortcut to the top lies on the left of mountains. |
