Exactly as it says on the tin. This is to gauge how much interest there is in an unofficial AWBW tournament where you don't really win anything except fame, congratulations and my undying love. If you lose, expect me to make a map mocking you thoroughly and vehemently. No but really, if you're interested in this, post here. I'll try to set up a bracket and I have a few maps in mind already so it should be pretty speedy. |

I'm planning to have pretty fast timers, boot/AeT probably will be around 3 days. If you get booted, you forfeit and your opponent wins, although maybe we could do something like if a player is booted from a round, an earlier loser can step in to take the booted player's place for a rematch. Dunno what specific system it'll be just yet though. |

Of course it's on this map, how else will we get skillful and competitive gameplay? Who needs League maps when you have this? I guess we can have de facto timers where if the specified amount of time passes that game is rendered a forfeit on the offending player's side and the tournament proceeds as usual, even if the afk isn't kicked. Something like that. I'll post a thread with outlined details to the boards soon, including map info. I was looking to get a few maps from the New category in as well as a couple S-Ranks and older maps to even it out, but if yall have any preferences, voice em. |

Well I just like to call it unofficial to contrast with the tournaments that are actually set up and recorded on the site, like the Tournaments link in the sidebar. We'd have to make the games manually and there won't be an on- site record or trophy since it seems those with the power to make official tournaments are inactive. |

fingolfinsleftnut I was referring to the promotional public game post. You may join the tournament, but not my game on this map; those are two vastly different stuff. That game is just so people can view this, alright? EDIT: for those of you who are lazy like I so woefully am: Stuff by Bamboozle "Greetings ladies and germs. Welcome to the Summer 2016 Advance Wars by Web tournament extravaganza, pitting the most skilled players from around the universe against each other in a breathtaking test of strategy and skill. At least, that's how I envisoned it in my head. Results may vary. This tournament mainly features a mix of new maps with some oldies thrown in. If you have a map in mind, feel free to suggest it, although ultimately the final say on them will be up to the discretion of the Map Committee. There'll be a randomized bracket with several rounds, culminating in a final match between two semifinalists where the winner will be crowned king Supreme Leader of the Worldking. Included is a match for 3rd place between semifinal losers. If you got completely rekt lose, you're a loser and are treated as such, meaning you're out of the tournament. If you win, naturally you proceed onto the next round against the other winner in your bracket. Inactivity will still be monitored despite the busted boot system; if a player hasn't completed their turn by 3 days, they will be forfeited and will lose the match, resulting in an automatic victory for the other player. If you don't think you can make a move at least once every 3 days, try to not join the tourney. The following are just some of the maps I've looked at and thought were eligible for the tourney. Most of these haven't gotten a whole lot of recent play in general already so it'll be muy fun. Updated. Credens Justitiam was swapped with Nasuverse as they're both solid but Nasuverse seems less suitable for competitive play. Still looking at Border Patrol. |

Alright so now this is 20 participants, so while I'm not saying more people can't join, it is lookin a bit cramped, so I'll be ending signups by tomorrow morning aka in around 10 hours after this post. If anyone else wants to suggest stuff feel free. Keep in mind maps I've listed might be pulled last minute or replaced with stronger candidates so don't get too comfy. Yeah we'll likely use challonge (it was where I screencapped that test bracket). As of now signups are donezo. Meaning with lavagainer we have 21 people, so to even it out, yours truly will join the fray. The following maps are confirmed to be in: maps_id=63876 Locked and Loaded Stolen Moments Credens Justitiam (Potentially) Border Patrol I'll throw up another forum post soon with a finalized bracket and the maps that correspond to their rounds, and send everyone PMs with instructions as well too. |

Copying what I posted on the board: www.challonge.com/awbw2016 is the tournament bracket and where I'll be officially tracking who's proceeding to the next round. The following maps have decided for the tourney. All games will be normal weather, normal funds, on Mid Tier. With the exception of Javier which I forgot to ban but screw it, it's been done. Round 1, Matches 1-6, will be taking place on Credens Justitiam. Round 2, Matches 7-14, will be taking place on Locked and Loaded. Round 3, Matches 15-18, will be taking place on maps_id=63876. Round 4, Semifinals, will be taking place on Stolen Moments. Bronze Match for 3rd Place will be taking place on Border Patrol. Round 5, Finals, will be taking place on Shangri-La. |

lvjd1828 hasn't logged onto the site since last month so I figured it was safe enough to boot him from the tournament. Congrats to Xmo5, liandry, me, Everdan, Nyvelion, the-deadly-shadow and Castanietzsche so far for winning their games. Game 9 between Naegleria and a9977321 is still underway; depending on how long it takes, I'll set up Round 3 matches either during or after the duration of their game. I guess I just realized that this tourney never finished. Ah, oh well... it would have been Everdan vs TDS finals anyway, so it's not like I could have won. I suppose I had a shot at 3rd or 4th, but who knows. |
