Edit 08/02/2020: It seemed like getting into the middle was a bit harder than it should've been, so I added some shoals to make capturing the middle a bit easier.

Edit 06/02/2021: Moved the HQ bases closer to the middle to leave some more neutral space in the corners while making it easier to fight for the middle.

My second map designed around a logo, this time based on the dutch supermarket chain
Albert Heijn! (AH). Gameplay comes first, so it ended up looking quite different than
expected.

I started out hoping to make a map that allowed naval units a place to shine, but as I went
along I ended up focusing more on the idea of multiple fronts and limited bases.
Obtainable funds are very high, so perhaps battleships might still see a little bit of
play from time to time?

Addition: Perhaps this is stating the obvious, but it seems to me that stealths should be
banned on this map. With the airports so far apart, it's lunacy to allow those things to
fly around.
Shadow Star (01/20/2018 03:13pm):
For the high funding, you have roughly 33K funds per side. If you really want to push battleships, airports are
not the way to go about doing it. with 3K funds that would be 3 tanks with a little left over. but with an airport,
tnat can be a battlecopter, an MD tank, an infantry, and another tank, an artillery with 1K left over, or if you
have some saved from a previous turn an AA.

I suppose building a battlecopter, and three mechs would get you 15K funds towards a battleship next turn,
but most of the bases aren't in positions where mech rushing would be too advantageous since there will be
battlecopters, and plenty of funds to spare on AA.

Colin could get away with a battleship from time to time, but I think that he'd be more likely to build a bomber,
fighter, stealth, or neotank over a battleship. Navy just isn't that big on awbw.

I'm aware of what you're saying, it's quite alright if the map doesn't get ships very
often. I intentionally decided to have naval combat take a backseat as I wasn't willing to
sacrifice air-units and proper ground combat.

That being said, I think having the option of teching a battleship that juggles two fronts
is good to have, so I decided to leave functional ports available either way.

Ive never thought of using a port to allow both land and naval passage, its genius. I would like to see the sea wrap
around as well.
