wilkyb (01/31/2018 06:54pm):
do you often tease people you don't know over the internet? don't you have something constructive to pursue in your life? |
|
wilkyb (01/31/2018 06:55pm | Edited: 01/31/2018 06:55pm):
certainly you wouldn't ridicule somebody like this who you came across on a daily basis |
|
wilkyb (01/31/2018 07:04pm):
and you are commenting on an account that has 3 games played on it, why do you choose to act like such a loser? |
|
wilkyb (01/31/2018 07:05pm):
It's a nice meme though, I'll give you that. But own up to it man, what's the point? |
|
wilkyb (01/31/2018 07:06pm):
who are you? |
|
wilkyb (01/31/2018 07:30pm):
You are Jack Milton |

Jackie Milton (01/31/2018 11:18pm | Edited: 01/31/2018 11:22pm):
Yikes. You have a lot of questions, but since I have little constructive to pursue in my life, I'll go ahead and answer them. Well, there's one already. So that's good. Jackie* Jackie* Asterisk indeed. "But he semed for to be A man of gret auctorite" -Chaucer "The House of Fame" Often one might see an asterisk in Middle English translations of works. These indicate something is missing whether it is a word's true definition, long lost literature, or unfinished sections of writing (like in "The House of Fame" (double interesting as fame is conflated with rumor, somewhat ironic now)). But to the Jackie, Jackie. There must be something behind the name. Maybe I'm born with it, but most likely not. I do like to say "Jackie, Jackie" to myself a lot (sounds kind of like chirping if you do it right), for two very different reasons, both of which being too personal and irrelevant to be here. But I assure you the rabbit hole goes deep. "Who are you? You are Jack Milton" I prefer Jackie, but I guess Jack can be ambiguous. e.g. Riddick and M.E. 2. (though arguably the same character) Also, this reminds me of the first two poems from which I really began to appreciate poetry. William Blake's "The Lamb" and its partner "The Tyger." It was with these two poems that I saw how language could be manipulated into art. The soft sounds conjured in the diction of "The Lamb," a poem about the origin of life (loosely), versus the harsh sting of the hard consonants in "The Tyger," best summed as "What is this monstrous beast? wtf, God?" Anyway "Little Lamb who made thee...? Little Lamb I'll tell thee!" "It's a nice meme, but what's the point?" Opportunity. Two great AWBW memes come together, and you expect me to miss ship's movement? I do, after all, have nothing constructive to pursue. INCOMING TWO-PARTER "Why do you choose to act like such a loser." hmm. So you think I'm acting? Thanks, that's a nice boost, though I'm relatively jovial today. But I'll take what I can get. Some "Context" [sic] *mad coughing* for part two. I don't know who Context is, but as chance may have it, I did send them a message expressing my curiosity. If you care, I'll pm you the proof, or idk, trust me? Besides, I usually use this account for comments, "Jimmy(Payne)" is because I reached my 30 map limit on this one. There's no real mystery there. "Certainly...you...like...this...daily?" Ah yes, AWBW is my life and therefore routine, as I have nothing else constructive to pursue. (this is true at some level) But to your actual question, I'm generally p(r)etty sarcastic, and loose with my ridicule. But dem bois pick on me too. So, uh, yes. I do. Granted, my intent isn't malice here or there, but you do have a right to be offended because I am, in fact... "teas[ing] [someone] [I] don't know over the internet?" But I will express some opinions I'd like to air. These are strictly my own. You subjected two of my friends -- who unlike me pursue constructive lives -- to hours of discussion. These people are very busy individuals with actual non-awbw obligations, but they were generous and patient enough to spend the time to discuss game meta. Ultimately you disagreed, which is fine, of course, but you then went and publicly accused them of "textbook bigotry." Which is inconsequential to them (better people than I), but it really plucks my feathers. So, I mean. I'm no Saint/high preistess//holyman/whatever but maybe you ought to pick up a mirror next time you're out in town? Also, just a minor point I'd like to clear up, anyone can rate a zero if they are familiar enough with html, or [webcode]. -J.F.M. (The "F" stands for "not as Funny as anticipated") |

You did, and I'll gladly draw a token from your bag of "I-told-you-so's" But when issued a lawful order that I morally disagree with, (Don't publish the map) I first separate the conflict. The tempered nature of AWBW (Service) vs. a good 'ol time (Mission) Then I try to resolve it, Mission is above Service, so I really shouldn't comply Then I resign myself, I don't, like, have a job here. Then I disobey, but only if 4 conditions are met: 1. Nontrivial, a matter of fundamental injustice (libel) 2. I try to change the law/order (I consulted the community) 3. I publicly announce my action (in the discord) 4. I know to accept any consequences (also in the discord) -J.E.S.M. (The "ES" stands for "Ethically Sound") |

Here, let me help you Jackie: https://content.wisestep.com/productive-and-useful-things-to-do-in-your-free-time/ Between meditating at an old person's home, scrapbooking, and "finding hobbies for yourself", I'm sure you can find plenty of constructive things to pursue. Failing that, there's always plain old construction. |

@jackie I have gone over the top in some instances and I apologize to you and to any others in the community if I named called at any point (there have been more than a few). Sometimes it happens in the heat of the argument and I don't mean anything seriously malicious. I apologize for letting my feelings get to the best of me and I don't mean to hurt anybody's feelings. I don't think you are a loser. I had 2 hour discussions with all these people who you mention as well. I have to dedicate my time to the discussion just like they do. I also have many people trying to communicate with me at once, so it can be kind of tough to follow the discussion precisely as I want to. I have school and stuff too, and believe it or not, I think about the criticisms I recieve during the daytime and I discuss these things to my classmates. I am fascinated in understanding the mechanisms people deploy to learn somebody something they think is worth sharing. I think the current map ranking system should be reworked somewhat. I think there ought to be a requirement that players play atleast 1 game on a map before voting/commenting on it. I think this is a good idea because it provides the map maker with a replay to analyze at the same time they recieve criticism in the comments. I think it would encourage a better relationship between the map maker and the person who votes/comments. The bigotry stuff and the reddit thread I admit is a bit embarassing; I was pretty high on the weeds that evening lol. But I don't completely back down from that sentiment that is that people are not receptive of my learning disability when it comes to map theory. I need replays to learn some of these concepts. |

...can you be my friend Jackie Milton? |
|
wilkyb (02/02/2018 02:25am):
can we be friends Jackie? |
|
Jackie Milton (02/03/2018 11:45pm):
Well, considering what has been said here and elsewhere (among us), "friends" might not be so realistic at this stage. That being said, I will (try to) be friendly so long as you are, and consider your apology accepted. I'm not perfect, can't expect you to be. As far as ratings go, don't think anything of them. It's a fairly meaningless metric (though "map committee rating" has more tangible standards.) I'll unpublish this if you want. |
