死 (06/28/2018 06:01pm | Edited: 06/28/2018 06:07pm):
Played a FoW match on this map. It's not bad. Quite the opposite. But for FoW there are a little bit too many forests, especially on the 3 Tile-wide gap near the base where the landers are (Mountain - Forest - Plain - Forest with 2 more forests next to the city). The Lander is nice letting your safely capture those 4 cities early on. And lately apply additional pressure if needed for an eventual HQ capture attempt. Also I appreciate the pipes with the Mountains in front of it, letting you use piperunners potentially on one of your bases, without them just getting rekt immediately. But since it's so close to the enemy base (which you could lock with the piperunner) the enemy can attempt to crank out Mechs (that's what happened in my game). But that is fine, as there are still 3 other bases, and it raises the value of the piperunner, which still is an expensive investment with not the greatest value otherwise (since fairly limited range of threat - usually a rocket would be a better investment (cheaper + can be used in more ways)). The whole HQ 'idea' with the pipes right in the middle and close to each other + the placement of all bases (2 bases sandwhiched between 1 enemy base from each side & 1 of them delayed) - All of that worked pretty well. It was really interesting how it eventually turned into a 'race' sort of, where you need to defend your own HQ against the 2 bases, but also need to be careful not to lose any of your single bases AND also try to make your own push towards the enemy HQ. Like I said, all of that worked really well. Good job! Funds get a little high past Day10, but with 4 Bases this is totally acceptable I think. Since I have only played FoW and it's a little bit to forest heavy for that in certain spots, I will rate it 8/10 (9/10 otherwise). Definitely a fun map! gg |
